Indian Maritime University (IMU), Kolkata was recognised as a central university in the year 2008, under the Ministry of Shipping, GOI. In addition to its flagship 4-year B.Tech. course in Marine Engineering, it also offers PG (M.Tech. and MBA) courses, and other industry related short-term courses. The institute conducts its own entrance examination (IMU - CET) for admission to both UG and PG courses. The university is known to produce some of the best marine engineers in the world and attracts placements from the leading shipping companies in the country. 

IMU Kolkata Admission

Admission to UG and PG courses is done on the basis of cut-off in IMU-CET entrance examination conducted by the university. Admission criteria for B.Tech. Marine Engineering is minimum of 60% marks in PCM and minimum of 50% in English in 10+2 and have qualified IMU-CET. Admission criteria for M.Tech. Marine Engineering and Management is 60% marks in BE/B.Tech. in Marine Engineering/ Mechanical Engineering/ Naval Architecture and have qualified IMU-CET. Admission criteria for MBA International Transportation & Logistics Management is 50% marks in graduation and qualified IMU-CET. Admission into other short-term courses will be based on the strict technical capabilities of the candidates as mandated by the university from time to time.

You have to score above 70% for getting a seat in IMU Kolkata because ther is very few seats available. The eligibility criteria is as pe University 10+2 or equivalent with minimum 60% aggregate in PCM and minimum of 50% marks in English subject in 10th/12th examination.but with 70 %younhave to wait for the second list for your addmission. With 70 % in 12 th class you give IMU- CET entrance exam for scholarship and addmission .Admission to UG and PG courses is done on the basis of cut-off in IMU-CET entrance examination conducted by the university. Basically Admission criteria for B.Tech.
