The National Testing Agency or the NTA was the official agency for IIFT entrance exam. The NTA has been conducting the IIFT entrance exam on behalf of the Indian Institute of Foreign Trae Delhi since 2019. The NTA’s role in conducting the IIFT exam includes scheduling the exam, registration and application process, release of IIFT admit card, preparation and release of answer key, answer key objection and announcement of result. The syllabus and pattern is prescribed by the institute. NTA conducts the exam in over 60 cities across India in computer based test mode. Its role ends with announcement of the exam result, final answer key and date of number of applicants and test takers. It has no role in IIFT cut off determination or selection process for MBA admission at IIFT. However, since 2024, the IIFT does not conduct the entrance exam.

The IIFT cut offs for admission to MBA International Business are determined the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade Delhi for all three campuses. The NTA has no role in the admission process of IIFT. It only conducts the entrance exam and its role ends with preparation and release of IIFT entrance exam result.
The IIFT Delhi determines the admission cut off on the basis of certain factors such as number of applicants, number of test takers, difficulty level of the exam, number of seats, previous year's cut offs, etc. There are two types of cut offs in IIFT - qualifying cut offs and final cut offs. The qualifying cut offs, are mere eligibility score that the candidate has to score to be eligible for selection to the extempore and PI round. The final IIFT cut offs are the marks on which candidates are actually selected for the extempore and PI round.
