Best college for research in Chemical Engineering.
Placements: My batch consisted of 20 students in my branch. Overall, the placements for my batch were good, with the highest package of 14 LPA offered by AB In Bev (a brewing company) and the average package being around 6 LPA. Nearly 80% of students sat for placements, while six people went for masters abroad. The main roles offered are in research and development, quality assurance and food production.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is decent when it comes to classrooms, but other facilities like labs, libraries, and research centers are excellent. It has a huge library where students can also access the books online through their portals. If you are genuinely interested in research in the chemical domain, this is heaven for you. Also recently, the M Mokashi incubation center was inaugurated, where you can work on your startup ideas. The sports and games facility, mess and canteen are good.
Faculty: The professors are highly qualified Ph.D. holders in their field, but not every professor is helpful and not every professor's teaching quality is good. The course curriculum is periodically updated to meet industry standards so that students become industry-ready. Also, the difficulty of the exams depends on the professor for that subject. Some make it really easy for you, while with others, you will have a hard time.
Other: It is located in Matunga, which is in central Mumbai, so connectivity is not an issue. Also, the campus is lush green and its surroundings are also beautiful. Also, at any time, one or other event is going on on campus. There are numerous fests, like Vortex (the Technical Fest), Manzar (the Cultural Fest), Sportsaga (the Sports Fest), and also departmental fests and events for freshers.

I am satisfied with this institute.
Placements: In our college, almost 100% of students are placed every year. This year, the highest salary package offered is 12 LPA, and the average salary package offered is 5 LPA. Top recruiting companies like Nestle, Hindustan Unilever Limited, etc., visit our campus. In every batch, we have a compulsory internship after the 3rd year, so everyone has to do an internship.
Infrastructure: Our facilities and infrastructure in the food department are excellent. Classrooms are fully ventilated and labs are good. In the lab, you will see that it is highly accurate and one of the excellent pieces of equipment for research. In the hostel, you get everything from a washing machine to sports equipment to the daily availability of a doctor to some of the best mess food.
Faculty: Our professors at this institute are so friendly and highly knowledgeable. Everyone has a Ph.D. They are knowledgeable in their fields. Their teaching is so good. Semester exams are average. Sometimes, they are difficult, and sometimes, they are easy.
Other: I am studying food engineering and technology, and I think that the course that I'm learning will not just prepare me to do industry work but also allows me to do research.

Absolutely satisfied, good infrastructure and good placements.
Placements: The average placements of the above course were 4.5 LPA The companies like ITC, Nestle, ZS associates, Heinz, Mapro, Cadbury visited our campus and offered roles in R&D, production, quality control etc. Internships being a compulsory course in a final year, students were placed in various companies all over India with various roles.
Infrastructure: ICT is an old college established in 1933 and number 1 in India for its chemical and exclusive courses offered. It has well-equipped labs and quality infrastructure. The students are also encouraged to play sports and represent the college in different festivals happening around in the city. The students' hostels inside the campus are good.
Faculty: We have highly qualified faculty with more than 50 research papers in specific domains and the research papers published in top journals in the US. Also, we are having good relations with top universities in the US. Almost 50% students opt for Masters after completing their undergraduate degrees.

ICT- The college that gives you more nightmares than grades.
Placements: The condition of placements this year and last year was very bad. The highest package this year is 9 LPA and the lowest can be as low as 1.2 LPA. Everyone gets an internship as it is a part of the curriculum but not everyone gets a stipend. Some people work for free while some get 15,000 INR per month. Companies which generally come for food engineering students are General Mills, PepsiCo, Kraft Heinz, and some B2B companies like VKL, PD Navkar, etc. but the intake is very low. Each company takes 1-2 students.
Infrastructure: There is no medical facility in the premises. The campus area is 16 acres and the only good thing is the greenery maintained. The sports facilities are average. The canteens are very boring and unhygienic. No Wi-Fi in labs or classrooms but the projectors are installed. The hostel rooms are also average but the fees is comparatively less than private hostels or PG since Mumbai has a high cost of living. Mess food tastes pathetic as usual. The only infrastructure related issue is that they have only one large ground and now they're constructing a lab on it, so there's very less area to play. The library is good but not 24x7. The classrooms do not have AC nor do many labs and it gets very hard to work or study during summers.
Faculty: The faculty is knowledgeable but not at all helpful. In fact, they'll make your life hell. The teaching method used is PowerPoint presentation which eventually gets very mundane and your interest gets lost soon. You get some industry exposure as a part of in plant training after the third year which is compulsory. The course curriculum of food engineering is full of rote learning and from my personal experience, it's too much to remember. After a certain time, you mug up things because of the vastness of the syllabus and number of professors teaching the same subject, thus increasing the amount of syllabus.
Other: From my personal experience, Institute of Chemical Technology is not at all student friendly. The management is very slow and inefficient. There is no students' council nor is there any student redressal forum where students can post their grievances. They have a strict rule of 75% attendance and the attendance system is biometric. There is a lot of variance in the amount of syllabus of different branches. The labs for some branches are limited and overcrowded while many instruments are not functional. Only 1-2% of the faculty members have a heart. Professors are involved with industries for either a project or as a counsellor, so basically an office of profit. Overall, the college will become your nightmare. So choose wisely.

Review of institution of chemical technology, Mumbai.
Placements: Placements in ICT are really good, almost everyone gets placed from our branch. The minimum salary offered is 5 lacs pa. Internships are provided to everyone and top companies like mondelez, ITC, general mills provide it. One of our top recruiter is byjus.
Infrastructure: Like any other college hostel, ICT hostel is the same. Basic facilities like washrooms and all are good. Sports and games constitute an important part of hostel life. There are some restrictions in girls hostel which need to be amended. Otherwise hostel life is great!
Faculty: Course is quite industry oriented and equal importance is given to practicals which enable us to be prepared for industries and for research sector. The teachers are very well qualified, most of them are important scientists of India in this sector.
Other: Fest and test.
