Admission Process for PG Courses
Candidates are primarily offered admission in Masters programmes offered at ICT Mumbai on the basis of their GATE/GPAT score (whichever is applicable). However, aspirants are informed that PG course admissions at ICT are conducted at two levels and merit list is also prepared at these levels, that is, Level 1 and Level 2.
Level 1: Merit list is prepared basis valid GATE/GPAT score in the specified subject and thereafter no written test or interview round is conducted for admission. Level 2 admission process is only conducted if seats remain vacant after merit list of Level 1 is released.
Level 2: Merit list is prepared basis valid GATE score (in any subject) as well as written test (as per the syllabus specified by the Department for the course in which the candidate is seeking admission.). The admission process weightage for the GATE score and written test is 70:30. In case of interdisciplinary shift of course/ branch, interviews will be conducted to check the suitability of an aspirant. On this interview committee there is an external expert. However, no marks are assigned to the interview.
Level 3: ICT merit list is prepared basis written test alone (based on the syllabus specified by the Department for the course in which an aspirant is seeking admission).

Hello Hardik,
As you are pursuing B.Sc degree, you will be eligible for GATE Exam only after an M.Sc degree.
Those who have completed B.Tech / BE and B.Arch are only directly eligible for GATE.
So, after doing an M.Sc, you may appear for GATE.

The Indian Institute of Chemical Technology is one of the best institutes in India in terms of academics and skill development. This institute especially meant to teach the branches related to chemical and has a global tie-up with many high-class universities such as Cambridge University, Oxford and Stanford University. One can get into this institute only when they get a rank in advance that too not more than 12000. Although one can get into food engineering in IITs too at this rank, the ICT degree for it is worth more than IIT. Institute of Chemical Technology is more precise and placement oriented towards the non-famous branches. The placement is done in many food industries such as dominoes McDonald's KFC, lays, Nestle, Cafe Coffee Day. The main purpose of food engineer is to check the quality of food and analysis of it linking it to the budget of the product. The average placement being 11 Lacs while highest up to 25 Lacs range every year. So one needs an immense passion towards the chemical and should be eligible to get into the institution whereas dropping the idea of IITs.
Thank you. Hope it helped.
