It focuses on providing students with fundamental knowledge and practical skills in pharmaceutics, pharmaceutical chemistry, pharmacognosy, and basic pharmacology. To get admission to this course students have to meet the eligibility criteria that are explained in the above sections.

As per the Jaipur National University admission guidelines, DPharm admission is based on candidates' performance in the last qualifying examination, scores of the JNU CET entrance test and followed by a personal interview. Candidates must fulfil the eligibility norms for qualification of the DPharm course. The minimum qualification is Class 12 with 45% aggregate in the PCM/ PCB stream. Therefore, direct admission to the DPharm course is not valid at JNU, Jaipur.
