Q:   Is JNU MCA entrance tough?

A:

JNU MCA admission is based on a valid Central University Entrance Test (Postgraduate) CUET-PG score. CUET PG is an all-India-level entrance exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). It is the best college and has value for money.
Placements: Some of my batchmates got placements after graduation. Many students went on to pursue master's, either in the same language or in different streams. The average salary package offered is around 6 LPA - 10 LPA. Many graduates from language streams get jobs in either translation or to train Al in that language.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of this campus is the best compared to other colleges in the whole of India. The campus is in Delhi. It is spread across more than 1,000 acres of land with full greenery. The hostel and educational buildings are the epitome of architecture. The whole campus is covered with Wi-Fi. The mess is diverse and provides good food.
Faculty: Teachers are extremely helpful and very dedicated to teaching. Professors here are of top quality, and their teaching methods are top-notch. Semester exams are tough. Students need to focus on their studies. Although attendance is not compulsory, students still need to attend classes.

If you are into academia, then Jawaharlal Nehru University s a good-to-go.
Placements: For this course, there are no placement opportunities as such. Most of the students go either for UPSC and state competitive exams or Ph.D. Some will prefer joining as research associate in think thanks too. For internship, you have to find it yourself as the institution won't arrange internship for your from their side .
Infrastructure: Infrastructure of our school building is overall good except toilets condition. Hostel Infrastructure is moderate with several challenges. Food quality is good in comparison with other central universities in India. But again it depends on the hostel and mess management team.
Faculty: Course outline is amazing. Don't expect every teacher to be exceptionally well. But most of the teachers are good enough. Curriculum is not that hard. If you study consistently, there is nothing to worry. The course is less hectic compared to the course outline of Centre for Political Studies.

Not good for students who are seeking campus placement opportunities.
Placements: The highest salary package offered is about 12 LPA. There's no need to worry too much about placement, it depends on students. It's more about students rather than a college or university. Around 20% of students got hired.
Infrastructure: Whole campus is Wi-fi enabled, but the speed is quite poor. Campus has a great network overall, so we can access the internet on mobile phones. There are no fees for a hostel and dorms are provided for those students who are unable to get a hostel room from the institute.
Faculty: Faculty members are not good. New staff lacks teaching experience and are unable to teach us without using PPT or handbook notes. Faculty members need to understand that skilled and qualified teachers are required for teaching.
Other: If one wants to enjoy college life, this is the best college. There is no need to worry about anything, as there is a freedom for both boys and girls.

Absolutely satisfied with my decision of choosing this college.
Placements: The School of Engineering at JNU was established in 2018, and hence its first batch passed out very recently, with an average package of around 11 LPA, the highest being 16 LPA on campus and 33 LPA off-campus. Many big companies like Byju's, Amdocs, Wipro, and IBM visited the campus during the placement season. The placement scenario is expected to improve as more batches pass out.
Infrastructure: Currently, we have two buildings for SOE—one is for administrative purposes and computer labs, and the other is the Engineering Lecture Complex (ELC) where classes take place. Wi-Fi is available 24/7. There are multiple canteens on the JNU campus with decent food quality. There is an entire sports complex in the JNU premises, offering one the opportunity to explore different sports. In fact, a new building for the engineering division is under construction, which is expected to be fully constructed by 2026.
Faculty: The curriculum here is interdisciplinary, allowing you to learn technical and personality skills simultaneously, boosting the students' communication skills and hence making them industry-ready. The faculty is very helpful and friendly; you can consult them anytime with your doubts, and they are ready to help. The semester exams are like those in any other engineering college, where you can get good grades if you study well or vice versa.
Other: I have always wanted to do engineering, and studying at a prestigious university like JNU is itself a big opportunity. Our college hosts all sorts of fests, including technical fests like EngQuest, HackJNU, etc., and cultural fests like Udbhav, and so on. The college also offers financial concessions to students in certain income brackets. JNU has a lot to offer, and at the end of the day, one will never regret the choice of being a JNUite, as it boosts one's personality on so many levels.

Best and honest review of Jawaharlal Nehru University.
Placements: Most of the students get placements in the final year of the degree. The average salary package offered was 6 LPA. MNCs and embassies offer jobs in my course. If we go for Master's studies, then we get the opportunity to study in foreign universities.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is very good. Hostel food is very good and the menu is decided by the students. There is a health center for students, free of charge. There is also a stadium for every game. Every hostel has a separate badminton court.
Faculty: Faculty members are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. Quality of teaching is excellent. Curriculum is relevant. If regularly attend the classes, the exam is not tough. Pass percentage of every semester is 4 CGPA. This is the best university according to NAAC ranking.
Other: I am interested in languages, so I chose this course. Foreign teachers also come to teach us. Students should communicate with each other in their course language. There is no fest in JNU, but cultural nights of each state take place.

Good environment, but lacks in infrastructure, and placements.
Placements: There is no placement cell at the college. So students have to look for their own future after completing their course by themselves. So, the university can improve in this area. Also, it needs to call a few companies to fill their requirements.
Infrastructure: The facilities available are outstanding. Students have access to the library, Wi-Fi, and healthcare for free. Also, the fee for the course and hostel is negligible. The quality of the hostel is very poor, as they do not even provide basic facilities, and the food quality is the worst.
Faculty: Many faculty members lack teaching skills; many start telling their own stories; many are self-centric; and only a few of them are really interested in teaching the subject allotted to them. This is the area in which the university needs to work the most.

Q:   Is JNU better than DU?

A:

As per the NIRF 2024 rankings, JNU is ranked 2nd, while DU is ranked 6th under 'University' category. This clearly suggests that JNU is a better university overall. However, these rankings are based on a variety of factors. Furthermore, the best university for a student will depend on the individual needs and preferences. Here is the comparison of JNU and DU based on some key factors:

  • Academics: JNU is known for its strong academics and research focus. It has a number of world-renowned faculty members, and its students have gone on to achieve great things in their careers. DU is also a good university academically, but it is not as research-intensive as JNU.
  • Campus Life: JNU has a vibrant campus life with a strong student union. There are many student organizations and activities, and the university has a reputation for being a hotbed of political activism. DU also has a good campus life, but it is not as political as JNU.
  • Location: JNU is located in South Delhi, while DU is spread out across the city. This means that JNU students have a more central location, while DU students have more options when it comes to choosing a college or hostel.
  • Fees: The fees at JNU are lower than the fees at DU. This is because JNU is a central university, while DU is a state university.
