Karnataka Samskrit University BA Admission 2022

Karnataka Samskrit University at UG level, offers BA programme with 10 different specialisations. The programme is spread across six semesters, each year consisting of two semesters. Candidates must meet the below-mentioned eligibility criteria to qualify for the merit list being prepared by the University for admission to this programme:

At PG level, the University offers MA programme in 12 different specialisations. MA is spread across four semesters, each year consisting of two semesters. Candidates for this programme are selected on the basis of marks obtained in graduation. The candidates need to fulfil the below-mentioned eligibility criteria to qualify the merit list:

Along with UG and PG courses, the University also offers two certificate courses, one diploma course, and one PG Diploma course. The duration of these courses differs from course to course. Given below are the course-wise eligibility and selection criteria.

Karnataka Samskrit University Certificate Course Admission 2022

Along with UG and PG courses, the University also offers two certificate courses. The total course duration is eight-month. The admission for this course starts in the third week of July and ends in the third week of February. The below table enlists the specialisations and minimum eligibility criteria to qualify for admission to this programme:

The University offers Diploma course with a total duration of 10 month. The classes for this programme commences in the third week of July and ends in the third week of April. Selection to this programme is based on the marks obtained in the last qualifying exam (PUC). Candidates willing to apply to this programme must ensure that they meet the eligibility criteria, as mentioned below:

Karnataka Samskrit University Admission 2022: PG Diploma Course

The University offers PG Diploma Course with three different specialisations. PG Diploma is one-year programme consisting of two semesters. Admission to this programme is based on the merit in the last qualifying exam (graduation or postgraduation).

Karnataka Samskrit University Admission 2022: MPhil and PhD

The University conducts a separate online entrance test for admission to MPhil programme. The entrance test comprises of 50 per cent questions from Research Methodology and 50% from the field of the relevant subject. Candidates, to seek admission in this programme, must score a minimum of 50 per cent in the entrance test. Further, seats are allotted to selected candidates based on the performance in counselling round. However, candidates with a valid CSIR NET/ UGC NET score are also eligible to apply, such candidates only need to appear for counselling round. 

*Candidates who are expecting the results of last semester/ year examination of Master’s degree are also eligible to apply provided they furnish the marksheet before July 31.

For PhD

Selection to PhD programme is based on marks scored in the entrance test followed by interview round conducted by the University. However, candidates with UGC NET/ UGC CSIR NET or qualified Teacher fellowship/ MPhil are exempted from the entrance test, such candidates only need to appear for the interview round conducted by the University.
Candidates should note that their duly filled application form should reach the admission office on or before July 17. Mentioned below table states the eligibility criteria for PhD programme:

*50 per cent of total seats are reserved for Karnataka domicile SC, ST and Cat-I candidates.

To seek admission to the courses offered by Karnataka Sanskrit University, candidates need to first visit the official website and fill the application form through offline mode. Candidates must note that the University accepts admission only during the admission cycle of the University. Here are the steps to fill the application form:

Step I: Visit the official website, www.ksu.ac.in

Step II: Click on the ‘Examinations’ section and when the drop-down appears click on ‘Application form’ tab  

Step III: You will be redirected to the application form page. Download the application form

Step IV: Take a hard copy of the application form. Fill the correct details as mentioned in your Class 10 mark sheet with a black ink pen

Step V: Draw a DD in favour of Finance Officer, Karnataka Sanskrit University payable at Bengaluru. The amount for DD varies from course to course as listed below:

Step VI: Attach the necessary documents as mentioned below:

For PhD programme

• Copy of ‘Statement of Purpose’ for proposed PhD programme, clearly indicating the research interest, discipline, area objective, etc.
• Self-attested copies of certificates and marksheets of qualifying degrees (Class 10, 12 and graduation)
• One passport-size colour photograph (to be affixed on application form)
• Two letters of recommendation (in the format provided in the application form)
• One example of scholarly or professional writing (preferable)
• Acknowledgement slip along with application form

For other programmes

• Marksheet and certificate of Class 10 and 12
• Graduation degree and marksheet (wherever applicable)
• Postgraduation degree and marksheet (wherever applicable)
• Character certificate
• Transfer certificate
• Migration certificate
• Caste certificate (if applicable)
