The fact that KSRDPRU, Gadag, is not well ranked nationally in terms of M.Sc. in Food Science & Technology makes him eligible. But, it has a niche in Karnataka for its teaching programs for decentralised development and related sectors like food science. The programme is also tailored towards the rural farming community by focusing on matters of concern within that sphere, technical skills, and techniques in food processing, food quality assurance as well as inResearch and innovations in Agronomic Development.Though it is quite competitive across the region, it is not ranked nationally for this particular pfogram and does not appear in NIRF. Limited placement options are available for graduates, who have to settle as junior employees in the agro-industries and food processing companies; the pay salary varies between Rs 2.5 LPA to Rs 4 LPA.

The private and public universities are many but seeing that KSRDPRU in Gadag is more cheaper than most of them it falls under the category of cheap universities. Other fees for programs such: MBA are relatively low and range from Rs 40, 000 to Rs 50, 000 per year. In the same category you have B.Com, B.A. etc. the fees are also moderate and range from Rs.15000/- to Rs.25000/- per annum. Since it is a university in the rural sector concerned with the development of panchayati raj, it is inexpensive and has specialisation courses in governance. As for the fees, the university retains a suitable quality of education, therefore, the offer is considered as cheap for students.

While institutions such as KSRDPRU (Karnataka State Rural Development and Panchayat Raj University), Gadag, and the Central University of Karnataka (CUK) owe different academic and institutional goals and aims, it becomes slightly difficult to draw a side by side comparison.KSRDPRU mainly deals with Rural Development, Governance and allied sectors providing specialty-course in public administration and rural polity. For students who want to work in governance and rural areas, it is perfect to pursue at this school. The placements offered are confined to few niches in industry and the median salary offer varies between rupees two and a half Lacs to four lakhs.CUK, on the other hand, has a disparate course offering across the sciences, arts, or management. It provides more campus placements and pays a higher average going from Rs 4 Lakhs to Rs 7 Lakhs based on the course offered. It can be seen that KSRDPRU is particularly stronger in some specialised fields yet CUK is generally more highly ranked, job and industry opportunities, and placements.
