Just see to it that your studies of engineering are not affected. If you can delay it by one year, and do it after completion of your graduation in engineering then it would be the best. Hello Asha Latha, you have completed your diploma in the year 1996 and now you are seeking lateral entry for doing graduation in BCA. Right? I am afraid lateral admissions are only allowed in engineering graduation courses in which a student who has done diploma is given admission directly into second year of 4 year degree course. But for graduation in any other course this facility is perhaps not available. You will have to take admission only in the first year of the degree course.

Hello Rukmini, I think you can. This is so because many states including Karnataka have given Diploma the equivalent of 12th and for joining any graduation course like B.A. Twelfth is a must. The institute from which you have completed your Diploma will be in a position to guide you about obtaining this equivalence Certificate. Once you have it with you then you can go for any degree for which eligibility is passing of 12th. Karnataka State Open University (KSOU), Mysuru, is a State Public University established by the act of State Legislature in 1992, and was brought into force on 1st June 1996. KSOU are recognised by University Grants Commission (UGC) New-Delhi video order No: F. No 14-5/2018 (DEB-I) Dated : 14th August 2018 for the period from 2018-19 to 2022-23. Hence its all courses are valid for government. jobs. The eligibility criteria of CTET is given below.
1. For paper-1 (Primary stage) : Graduation with at least 50% marks and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed).
2. For paper-2 (Elementary stage) : Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year B.Ed (Special Education) or Graduation and passed or appearing in the final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known) or Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed). So from above, Apart from Graduation the B.Ed. , B. El. Ed or 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education are mandatory here for CTET. Further there is no upper age limit for CTET exam. Hence you are not eligible.

KSOU is a UGC DEB recognised university hence its all courses are valid. KSOU does not offers any kind of B.Tech courses through distance mode. Further, B.E. /B.Tech courses through the distance mode are not valid as per AICTE guidelines. Hence, never pursue it. B.Tech lateral/ Part time are the best options if available there.
