CUSAT brand name can help you a lot while applying for higher studies overseas. Cochin University of Science and Technology courses are well-structured. The syllabus followed is tougher compared to KTU. So, a degree from CUSAT is more valued. KTU is a technological university. It offers courses in this domain only. External Part-time Candidates (Candidates working in firms/institutions not affiliated to KTU and approved by KTU) should have a GATE score/CAT score > 80 percentile.However, for full time students 70-80 percentile in the CAT exam is accepted.
