For candidates belonging to reserved categories, the minimum is 40%. At Mahatma Gandhi University of Medical Sciences and Technology (MGUMST), the minimum eligibility criteria for admission to the Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) program are as follows:As per the regulations of the Dental Council of India, a candidate must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examinations with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology for general category candidates. For Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/ Other Backward Classes, the percentile is 40%.Also, candidates have to appear and qualify for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) conducted by National Testing Agency. The minimum qualifying NEET score required may change every year but generally, 150-200+ is considered as a competitive score.Candidates should also meet age criteria which specify that the candidate must be at least 17 years of age as of December 31st of the year of admission. There is no upper age limit and admissions will be done based on document scrutiny and eligibility criteria being met.
