Mahatma Gandhi University (MGU) Kerala offer admission to its BCom/BCom (Hons) course based on merit in the last qualifying exam. Hence, the applicants scores in Class 12 or equivalent exam are considered for selection. After conclusion of application procedure, a merit/selection list can be released by the authorities to announce names of selected students. The admission is done through a centralised allotment process (CAP). Before applying for admission, the aspirants should check out the course-specific eligibility criteria. The eligible students can proceed with the application formalities. On selection, the seat can be confirmed by paying the admission fees.

The university also conducts an in-house entrance examination, which is the Mahatma Gandhi University Common Admission Test (MGU CAT). It is conducted for admissions to various PG programmes offered by the University such as MSc, MA, Master of Tourism and Travel Management, LLM and M.Ed.Admission requirements vary by program. Generally, undergraduate admissions are based on merit, determined by marks obtained in the qualifying examination (typically 12th grade or equivalent).
