NALSAR is one of the 18 participating national law universities in Common law admission test (CLAT) and admission in NALSAR is given only on the basis of marks obtained by a student in CLAT.
NALSAR is among top three National law universities in the nation and it is very tough to get admission there.
for Ph.D. and M.phill there is a separate admission test and you can read full eligibility criteria here: https://www.nalsar.ac.in/sites/default/files/m-phil-and-phd-book-april-2014-single-column.pdf
for undergraduate and postgraduate courses admissions are given by CLAT UG and CLAT PG respectively.
eligibility criteria to write CLAT UG you must have passed 12th with at least 45% marks and for CLAT PG you must be a law graduate with at least 45%.
then you write CLAT and admission are given according to cut-offs of ranks of students.

Hi, well NALSAR must be the preference anyways as it is the top most NLU in India and it needs no recognition as such. NALSAR has been one of the oldest NLUs and thus is a pioneer in the field of legal education. The infrastructure at NALSAR is good and you have facilities ranging from sports to music to moot courts to debates to MUNs etc. You have specialized committees for every activity.
Also, the faculties at NALSAR are much experienced and have a name in their own fields and their efficiency is thus beyond doubt.
Also, it is an NLU at the top level the placements are the best here as all the top law firms including CAM, SAM, TRILEGAL etc are the top recruiters here.
The moot court's achievements are phenomenal and also it does host a national moot.
Apart from all these the academics at NALSAR are a bit rigorous but that stands justified owing to future it paves for students.
So I would advise preferring NALSAR over Kerala Law Academy as it is beyond comparison.

NALSAR is an older NLU has seen decades and thus the placement is better and also the faculties.
Amity is a new institute and also a private one.
Moreover, in terms of infrastructure, Amity might be better as a new institute but on other criteria, it can't be matched when it comes to NALSAR.
You must prefer NALSAR any day.

NALSAR is one of the top law universities of this nation. You have to clear CLAT and get rank up to 130 (roughly) in order to get admission in NALSAR.
