Satisfied with the college, the facilities are good and overall we enjoy a lot.
Placements: The placement in Rourkela is good; it's in the top 3 NITS. Talking about placement in my course i.e civil engineering, it is decent; the average placement for this course is around 9 LPA, which is very less if you compare it with cs but 9 LPA in civil engineering is a decent amount to be paid as a starting package; the highest package goes around 30 LPA, so if you study well, then you can have a decent package of around 12-13 LPA, which is pretty good in this course.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure of this college is good. You have good network connectivity in classroom labs and library. We get LAN connection in hostels. For girls, we get a BF hall. In the 1st year, it's more like a flat apartment. We are 2 people in 1 room. The size of the room is good. The mess can be improved a little. Sports facilities are good.
Faculty: Teachers of our course are very well qualified and knowledgeable. They teach in a very good way. We just had mid-sem teachers who did help us by taking extra doubt sessions after classes so that we could resolve our doubts. We do get assignments relevant to the topics we study, and all these things are relevant to the course.

Institute provides everything which helps students to improve their personality and quality of life.
Placements: About 80% of civil department students were placed in 2024. The highest package was around 30 LPA, the average package was 12 LPA, and the lowest package was around 6 LPA. The top recruiting companies are TATA STEEL, AMAZON, GAIL, APPLE, GAIL, etc. About 60% of civil undergraduates got internships at Amazon, Google, Microsoft, Apple, etc.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is very good. The institute provides AC classrooms, labs, and a library with Wi-Fi and LAN facilities. Good hostels with mess and sports facilities are provided to students. Every hostel has its own mess, gym , reading room, canteen , and its personal sports ground inside the hostel area. The institute also provides medical facilities including an ambulance and a ragging-free campus.
Faculty: Teaching quality is very good, as our professors are highly qualified and experienced. Our teaching staff is very helpful to students. The curriculum is very relevant, as it is updated according to present needs, which helps students to get their desired jobs. Since our faculty is great, students do not face much difficulty in semester exams, and more than 95% of students clear the semester exams.
Other: I am interested in the construction of buildings and roads, so I chose this course. More exposure to construction sites would be better to increase the quality of my course. The institute hosts a lot of fests related to technology, culture, and many more. It also provides fee waivers to needy students based on income criteria. The institute is full of greenery and small water bodies. The institute encourages students to participate in extracurricular activities.

My college, National Institute of Technology Rourkela in a glance.
Placements: 91+% of students across all branches are placed at NIT Rourkela. There are around 16 branches and 21 departments in NITR; the highest package goes around 51 lacs, the lowest is about 3.5 lacs, and the average is around 14 lacs per annum. More placements are offered in software and analytics and consulting firms, mostly.
Infrastructure: There is state-of-the-art infrastructure, world-class labs, big hostels and department buildings. India's second-largest teaching campus, of around 1200 acres, makes for a lovely place to come, with lakes and mountains even on campus. The quality of the food is okay; some hostels are new and good; some are old but still manageable; there are pool stadiums and sports complexes; all you can do is study and enjoy.
Faculty: Faculty is very good academically, maybe not in teaching; they are all at least Ph.D. holders from IITs or foreign universities; the pass percentage is around 80%; but students do get industry-ready. The course curriculum gets somewhat irrelevant in some branches. But overall, it is good.
Other: There are 5 fests in a year, a very strong club culture, and an extracurricular culture, which gives you a lot of exposure. The crowd is made up of 50% Oriya people and the rest are mixed.

It is a blessing to get this college.
Placements: Placement season is going on. Till now 30% students got placed. In comparisiin to past years this year placement is quite low think because of recession. People are mostly in L and T. Average package is like 8 Lacs per annum. Till now the highest package in civil is 15 Lacs per annum.
Infrastructure: This college has 2nd the largest campus in India after IIT kharagpur. Every facility is available there. This college has a variety of branch so there will always crowd in the campus. Every week there will be some events by different clubs. Faculty members are best beleive or not they will help you like *** if you try to with them.
Faculty: Curriculum. Is best. Branch change option is also available. Course curriculum is industry ready. Rourkela itself is the sreel city so there is of for mettalurgy and civil. Engineers itself in this city. Semester exams are very difficult. Faculty members will use their creativity to make it the most the hardest.
Other: I wanted to explore this grand old and royal institute. And in my percentile I was getting this civil so I took it. Everything is already there. Fest is nodge, campus is extraordinary and spacious.

NIT ROURKELA: Know inside-out!
Placements: Nearly 95 percent of students who apply for placements are well placed in our institute. The highest package offered in our campus is 53 LPA and the lowest would range somewhere between 5-6 LPA. Top recruiting companies in Civil engineering are Tata, BPCL and LNT. The average placement overall was 12.95 LPA. And average placement from Civil branch was 9 LPA. 10-15 Percent students successfully bag internships.
Infrastructure: The hostels are well-equipped with spacious rooms, 2 beds, 2 cupboards, a pair of tables and chair. The Wi-Fi facility is available for all the residents. The libraries and classrooms are spacious and air conditioned. The mess food is healthy and hygienic.
Faculty: The teachers are well qualified and talented who have completed their degree from well known universities. The course curriculum is not relevant, they still teach age old methods which are not practiced any longer. The semister exams are tough as well the attendance rule is tiring.
Other: I chose this course as it was the best was getting in this college. Civil is an evergreen branch with good future prospective. The course should include new topics which are currently used not the age old ones. The fest and event culture of the college is of the Next level. The crowd here comes all over India. Even the club culture is impressive.

The percentage/marks that a university or a college needs to enrol students till a certain score could be defined as cut-off marks. Different colleges have different cut-offs like SRCC had 98% last year.
