Aspirants who have passed LLB/ five-year integrated LLB from a recognised university with an aggregate of 50% are eligible to apply for NUJS LLM course. Aspirants applying for LLM must have the documents proving their eligibility for verification at the time of admission. The selection for LLM is based on CLAT score.

As per NIRF report 2023, out of 82 students, 54 were placed during WBNUJS Kolkata LLM placements 2022. Earlier, out of 42 LLM graduates, 15 were placed during 2021 placements. From 2020 to 2022, an increasing trend was observed in the number of LLM students placed.

The average annual package offered to LL.M. students at The WB National University of Juridical Sciences (WBNUJS), Kolkata varies based on the type of firms :

1. Domestic Firms: The average package ranges from INR 15 – 18 LPA.
2. International Firms: The average package offered by international firms is around INR 50 – 55 LPA.
3. In-House Counsels: The average annual package for in-house counsels is approximately INR 12 – 14 LPA.

Seat Intake for LLM programme at WBNUJS Kolkata

As per NIRF report 2023, out of 82 students, 54 were placed during WBNUJS Kolkata LLM placements 2022. Earlier, out of 42 LLM graduates, 15 were placed during 2021 placements. From 2020 to 2022, an increasing trend was observed in the number of LLM students placed.

The WB National University of Juridical Sciences does not offer direct admission. Candidates need to qualify the accepted entrance exams for admission. The university considers CLAT score for admission to BA LLB (Hons), BSc LLB (Hons) and LLM courses. NLU Kolkata conducts an entrance test for admission to LLD, MSc and PhD courses. Selected candidates need to participate in the counselling round for admission.

NLU Kolkata cutoff 2024 for BA LLB (Hons.), BSc LLB (Hons) and LLM admission is based on the CLAT score, followed by the CLAT Counselling. The closing rank in 2024 for the BA LLB (Hons) course stood at 262 in Round 1 and 279 in the last round of CLAT cutoff for the general AI category candidates. For the LLM programme, the Round 1 and the Last Round closing ranks were 452 and 620.

The CLAT Consortium will conduct at least five rounds of seat allotment for CLAT 2025. Before each round, the consortium will share the seat allotment list for the remaining seats. In case there are still seats vacant after the fifth round, the counselling mop-up round will be held at institute level. In CLAT 2024 as well, there were total of five CLAT seat allotment rounds until all seats at the participating NLUs were secured by candidates.

CLAT Round 3 Seat Allotment has been released. For WBNUJS Kolkata B.A. LL.B. course the ranks have not been released for the General category candidates. However, there are ranks for few other categories. Candidates seeking admission to WBNUJS Kolkata must have a valid score in CLAT in order to be eligible for the counselling.
