Hi Ajay,
NMIMS is known for its MBA and is growing in the field of law as well. UPES is a great university for law, but I would go with NMIMS if talked about corporate sector.

In addition to these courses, there are five NMIMS Campuses namely- Mumbai, Shirpur, Navi Mumbai, Indore and Bengaluru.
NPAT 2017 was conducted across 32 cities stretching across 16 states.
We can conclude that it was very well spread across the nation.
Hence, a rough estimate would be around 80,000 to 1 Lakh students. However the numbers may have increased during this year.
Hope this helped.

I would suggest you go for Symbiosis Law School, Pune because it is old, renowned with good faculty and placements too. Do well!

I graduated this year from NMIMS after the succesful completion of BBA with specialisation in Finance domain. Hence, I hope I do justice to this query.
At NMIMS, you will get ample opportunities, be it working for a big time MNC, or be it an entrepreneurial journey, provided you grab them with both hands.
The quality of the curriculum and the faculty is top-notch. No compromise on that.
Now coming to placements, I will give you the true picture. Yes, you guessed it right, the placements arent what are shown in their placement reports.
Before describing placements, I would like to mention that I wasnt the one who didnt get placed (in fact, I got placed in Deloitte, and yes Im no CA); so please bear in mind while reading this that this aint my frustration, its the actual scenario out there.
A hell lot of companies visited the campus, thanks to the brand name of NMIMS.
Having said that, there was a stiff competition too, as there was an intake of 240(BBA)+60(B.Com) students out of which 120 odd students in total opted to register for placements.
But the pay packages offered were rather poor, if not dismal, and not even close to what the website states. The only exception were 3 students, 2 of which got into an investment bank (9lpa each) and the other 1 got around 4.5lpa
Rest all the placed students got 3lpa (by Deloitte which hired 17 students of our batch) or even less than that.
Hope it helps. Cheers.
PS. The knowledge that I gained in those 3 years did help me in passing CFA level-1 this year.

You'll get it most probably in the second list, also, it depends on your preference of courses.

Faculties:Most of our faculties have good corporate experience and many are PHDs. I am from a decent Engineering college and compared with that here the classroom learning is way better and interesting.
Peer Learning:In my batch, around 80% students have corporate experience and as it is the case with other B-schools of India, most of the students are from IT industry. Having said that, at SIMSR people are pretty smart and one has to up ones game to contribute. (We are yet to take final trimester exams so I still dont know how hard-working my friends are.)
Committees:There are more than 20 student-run committees in SIMSR. All are well-managed, and give ample opportunities to learn. There are a lot of club-activities happening throughout the year. So much so that almost everyday I get a mail regarding a new competition. You will need a big stack of sticky notes.
Live Projects:Not many students asks about this aspect but I personally feel that live projects are important for ground learning. In last two months, we have got more than 10 live projects opportunities, some offering decent stipends. I was a bit lazy in applying to most of them but today I have given interview for a startup.
Enough elements are provided here to spruce up your CV.
Placements:I had done my research on placements before joining SIMSR. And as I am talking about my own experience, talking about placements will be a bit out-of-place. You can easily find the list of alumni as well as recent placement figures on Internet. I rarely had any doubts in this respect before I joined the college.
