The admissions to the B.Tech programs at the School of Petroleum Technology, Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University is through a valid score in JEE Main.Take a look at the admission process to the School of Petroleum Technology:- Government Seats (33%): For admission to Gujarat Seats, a candidate has to apply at ACPC (The Admission Committee for Professional Courses) as per ACPC norms. - All India Seats (52%): A candidate seeking admission on All India Seats shall apply online, on the University website, within the prescribed time limit. Fifty-two per cent of seats shall be filled by the University from the candidates who have passed the Qualifying Examination from the schools located in India (including Gujarat State) and have appeared in JEE (Main). The merit list for these seats shall be based on rank/marks obtained in JEE (Main).- NRI seats (15%): These Seats shall be filled by the University as NRI seats from the candidates who have passed the Qualifying Examination from the schools located in India (including Gujarat State) or abroad. Seats shall be filled as per merit based on rank/marks obtained in JEE (Main). There will be an online application form for admission to All India seats and NRI seats.For the MTech programme, admission is based on scores in GATE.Admission Process:A. Phase - I (Only for the candidates having qualified and valid GATE score): - Admission will be offered to the candidates on merit based on the GATE score. - The seats remaining vacant upon completing admissions of this Phase will be transferred to the seats for Phase II admissions. The candidates who are not offered admission during this Phase, of their application will be considered automatically for the Phase II admission process and they will have to appear at the selection procedure of the Phase II Admission Process mentioned herein. - All GATE-qualified candidates must upload the GATE Score Card as a part of the online application process. - The criteria for deciding merit order in case of candidates having equal merit marks shall be based on the following sequence namely: a. All India rank for GATE b. Marks out of 100 in GATE scorecard c. Aggregate marks / CPI of B. Tech. DegreeB. Phase - II (for GATE / Non-GATE candidates): The Phase - II admission process is meant for Non-GATE candidates and also for the candidates having a valid and qualified GATE score but not offered the admission during Phase - I; as mentioned hereunder: A single merit list will be prepared for valid and qualified GATE and Non-GATE candidates on the following basis:- Performance score obtained in Personal Interview by the candidate. - 50% weightage of GATE score (applicable to GATE-qualified candidates). A candidate who has applied for more than one branch has to appear in a Personal Interview for all the respective branches separatelyEligibility Criteria: Minimum 50% or CPI/CGPA of 5.5 in 10 point scale in the qualifying degree (recognized by the UGC/AICTE) as mentioned hereunder for admission in the M. Tech. program: M. Tech. (Petroleum Engineering): B. E. / B. Yes, surely. The School of Petroleum Technology, Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University is good for B Tech. The school was started in 2007 to create promising Petroleum Engineers. Other than B.Tech it offers M.Tech., & Ph.D programs to the students. The SPT faculty members have a prosperous industrial as well as academic experience. Students and faculty members are engaged in practical research and the School organizes expert lectures, conclaves, seminars and workshops and makes sure that the students are efficient in their field.Students in the petroleum engineering programme can go to the UNIVERSITY OF OKLAHOMA (OU) for one semester as a credit exchange programme and earn credit which will be counted as their academic performance for that semester.We hope this was helpful.Thank you
