Not a good college life but good for placements.
Placements: This college doesn't have good infrastructure or facilities compared to other top colleges, but it's only good for placements and internships because it's a 100-year-old college. So many big companies came here, like Amazon, Apple, Microsoft, American Tourister, JP Morgan, and so many other big and small companies with a good average package value. The percentage of students who get placed differs by branch, with CSE getting the highest pick and vice versa. Many financial and humanities courses are also provided with your branch courses.
Infrastructure: Only 1st year classrooms are modern and for the rest, all are old school classes. Wi-Fi is pretty okay, labs are pretty okay, the library is good and provided with AC service and more than 1 lac books are available. Hostels are not good at all; only 1 hostel is good, which is Shivalik Block C, and new hostels are under construction. Mess food is totally bad; only breakfast is good and there is no taste in lunch or dinner. There is a market in our college with all our daily requirements, as well as a bank and medical dispensary. We have 3 sports grounds and have athletics day every year with many competitions in many games.
Faculty: Not all professors are good; it depends on which professor is assigned to you. Some professors don't even care if you understand anything or not. Semester ends in 4 months, midterm exams in 3 days with 2 subjects per day and end semesters in 1 week without any break provided. It's not a good academic system; they don't think about students mental health with this academic system.
Other: I chose this course because civil is easy to do in government exams and has higher seats in government exams. This college is half-filled with residential areas, so it is not that big. The college is located inside the city so all markets and malls are nearby. We have one fest every year, which is PECFEST and it's the biggest after IIT Delhi in the north.

Fun place, if you want to get placed easily.
Placements: Placement is the only reason you should join this college. Like in my branch, we have more than 60% placement percentage. And the average package is INR 10 LPA. I am in the civil branch. In college, the highest placement is INR 83 LPA by Atlassian for five students or more.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is okay. Some buildings are old, but the overall infrastructure is okay. The Nab is a newly built building, and the infrastructure of the Nab is world class. Departments like civil and electrical are worse than ***. No proper light in the classroom.
Faculty: The faculty at this college are gross. Some of them are really good, but some teach like ***. Some faculty in the civil department are too rude, but others are too good; they teach well. The professors in the ECE department are very nice and understanding, but they can be rude at times.

Old infrastructure, decent study, and good placements.
Placements: For civil engineering, nearly 50% of students are placed through the college. The highest package is somewhere between 24 LPA, and the minimum package is 3-6 LPA. The top company is L & T, and there are many others too, which are good ones. The maximum internship package is 50k, and it's decent too.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is old and has not been renovated. For the first year, there is a new building; otherwise, it's an old building. Wi-Fi is good and available everywhere in the college. The library is decent, too. Food is not good in the mess, like at every other college. The game facilities are also good.
Faculty: For studies, it's also a good college. Teachers are helpful, and the course is very relevant. The study is neither too tough nor too easy. It's decent and can be easily passed even if listened to in class. Teaching quality is good, and labs are available for practical experience. Industrial tours are also part of the curriculum.

Punjab Engineering College is one of the best colleges.
Placements: PEC has one of the best placement opportunities. JP Morgan, Microsoft, and McKenzie are the companies that visit here.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is decent, and the hostels are not very good. The college has 4 boys' hostels and 2 girls' hostels. The newly built hostels are really great, but the old ones are not repaired. The newly made departments like the new academic block (NAB) is the best building in PEC.
Faculty: Semester exams are good enough. The other side of the road is the best thing. It's a good time for us.
Other: The college has a lot of clubs and extracurricular activities, and the PECfest is the best thing.

Good placements, bad infrastructure.
Placements: The placement cell of our college is very active and responsible. Many major companies and MNCs come for internships and placements, such as Microsoft, Goldman, Amex, JP Morgan, McKinsey, etc. The average package is around 8 LPA. Our placement cycle starts in the 7th semester, and the internship cycle starts in the 5th semester.
Infrastructure: The library is very small, and the food area or cafeteria is very poorly maintained. Medical and sports facilities are good, and we have many events too. Wi-Fi is okayish and does not work in some buildings. The hostels are not good either, with poor infrastructure.
Faculty: The faculty is really helpful and qualified in their fields of study. The course structure is appropriate, with a good mixture of classroom study and labs. We also have an industrial tour which makes students industry-ready. The semester exams are tough, and the pass percentage is 30%.

As of now, JEE Mains does not take into account the 12th marks in deciding the rank although it is needed for admission. So you may have 92-93 percentile to clear the cutoff.

The college has its high reputation in terms of civil engineering. The faculties of civil engineering department has high amount of expertise and moreover, civil is the oldest branch of this college. So, overall, it is a good college for civil engineering but only the placements are 80%.
