PEC provides good placements.
Placements: PEC is known for its placements, and this is the reason it gets compared with IITs and top NITs. Overall, the average salary package this year is 16.7 LPA. For EE, it was 15.5 LPA, for CSE, it was 25 LPA, for ECE, it was 18 LPA, for production engineering, it was 8 LPA. Top companies are Apple, Adobe, Microsoft, Amazon, etc. Majority of students got placed in the software sector.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of this college is very poor. First-year classes are conducted in NAB, which has almost every modern facility you can imagine but from 2nd year onwards, classes are conducted in departments. Those departments are very old for modern-day teaching standards. I would be giving 0/5 but PEC has Seimens and ECE labs which are something next level even better than IITs. Now coming to hostels, these are absolutely not worth it according to cost. If I sum up the hostel and mess fee per year, it comes up to Rs.120000. It is so very expensive, and living conditions relatively very poor. The hostel is not costly. The fee is only Rs.46000 with the mess fee included, so nothing is to be compared.
Faculty: The course curriculum is the same as in IITs. It is too old. Some teachers are excellent at teaching but some are like they don't know how to teach. Though they have very high knowledge of their subject, academics is not a big concern in this college. Education is average, as students are mostly focused on getting skills and then getting high paying with decent salary packages.
Other: The fee structure is not affordable. This college has value for money because of its placements. Students take loans and then repay them within about 1 year of placement. This college should improve its core laboratory so students who are interested in research can get basic facilities for it. Most of the students do not want to do research. Everyone is kind of crazy behind placements. PEC is known for organizing events in Chandigarh. The entire year, many events are conducted. You will not feel bored even a single day in PEC. The main fest is PecFest which is a very high-intensity fest. This year, PEC is also organizing an E-Summit just like IIT Bombay.

Review of Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh.
Placements: In our college, almost 90% of students are placed. The highest salary package offered is 40 LPA and the lowest salary package offered is 5 LPA. Top recruiting companies like JP Morgan, TCS, Goldman Sachs, McKinsey, etc., visit our campus. Approximately 70-80% of students get internships at JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs, Samsung, BHEL, TCS, and McKensey. The top role offered is helping manager.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is available throughout the campus. We have smart boards installed in classrooms. Many books are available in the library. Hostels are good. Mess facilities are available. The quality of the food is good. We have badminton and volleyball courts in the hostel, and table tennis facilities are available.
Faculty: Our teachers are helpful and excellent. The course curriculum is relevant. It makes students industry-ready. Semester exams are not difficult. The pass percentage is good.
Other: I chose this course because of my JEE rank. The most impressive thing about this course is that it teaches us many day-to-day working principles that only electrical engineers can solve. More industrial training is needed for improvement. PECFEST is the cultural and technical fest of PEC. It is held annually. There are scholarship opportunities for SC, ST, defense, Kashmir, sports, etc.

Pec Chandigarh: Deemed to be University.
Placements: 70% of students were placed last year. This year, placements are low due to the recession. Top recruiting companies include JP Morgan and American Express. Top roles offered are SDE, data analyst, CADP, and finance roles. Almost 50% of students received internship offers, and some even got PPOs.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is average, with Wi-Fi facilities all over the campus. Classrooms are air-conditioned with smart boards. Hostels are average, as expected from government colleges, but the mess food is decent, with a variety of dishes available.
Faculty: Most faculty members are serious about their core subjects, though first-year subject teachers are a bit relaxed. Most faculty have PhDs from IITs and foreign universities. The course curriculum is relevant to modern needs and flexible, with the college making timely updates. Semester exams are not too tough, and most students pass them.

Our college provides high salary packages.
Placements: Over 90% of students got placed in the previous year with an average salary package of 13 LPA. It is quite high compared to other colleges. The highest salary package is 70 LPA. Around 85% of students got internships.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is good. Labs are good. The infrastructure of classrooms is that great. Cleanliness is maintained. The library is a key point. The mess food is good, but the mess is not available at night. Hostel rooms are small. A dispensary is available in PEC Market, where free medicine is provided.
Faculty: Teachers are good, helpful, highly qualified, and knowledgeable. The course curriculum is quite relevant. It does not make students industry-ready. It makes them ready for internships and startup opportunities. Semester exams are not that difficult. The pass percentage is about 95%.
Other: Pecfest is conducted in November. It is highly joyful.

Reviewing Punjab Engineering College.
Placements: I am from the electrical department. Due to recession, placements percentage is lower than the previous years. This time, the highest package is 54 LPA, average package is 15 LPA and 12 LPA is the median package offered in electrical department. Top recruiters are Amazon, Microsoft, IBM, Paytm, JP morgan and other big firms. Only 30% students of the entire EE batch got internships.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi, labs and classroom facilities are decent. Overall, the infrastructure is too old and bad with some places being unhygienic. The new departments are good like ECE and CSE. The hostel food was good in the starting, but after some time it became worse. Sports and games facilities are very good with the college having 2 play grounds.
Faculty: Teachers are not helpful except a few of them. Some of the teachers are definitely dedicated, but most of them are only good enough. The course curriculum is semi relevant, many expert sessions are held for making then students ready for industry. The semester exams are off moderate level difficulty but the grading system normalizes everything because it is relative.
Other: I am passionate about electrical engineering and have a deep interest in motors actuators. In EE, we can deal with many electric components. The course is more theoretical, it should be practical. Pec fest held during the month of November is best thing in the college. It is a wonderful and excellent event having a big budget. The crowd is awesome and helpful.

PEC Chandigarh is better than NIT in terms of its name and the quality of exposure one gets. NIT has the attractive 'NIT' tag, but there is a good legacy with PEC and the advantage can be seen as it is connected more to the industry. Whereas, NIT KKR has not been able to carry its good name.
