The placement report for 2022 of Ranchi University shows a dip since 2019. While the highest package of 2022 for PG (2 year) was INR 3.90 LPA, the highest for 2019 stood at INR 4.80 LPA. Authorities state Covid restrictions as a major base factor. However, the placement packages for B.Tech courses offered by Ranchi Universtity did not see any significant change. The highest package margin remained INR 5-6 LPA. While the average package maintained a margin of INR 2.8-4.5 LPA. The highest placement package for B.Tech courses at Ranchi University was INR 6 LPA for the year 2023 as released by the University.

Eligibility for courses offered by Ranchi University varies accordingly. Most of the courses are entrance based and preferably do not require 12th percentages and are directly based on the scored or percentile scored of the entrance exam concerned. The applications with higher exam scores are generally preferred for seat allocation. However some courses offered are based on merits of previous exam appeared in which 12th percentage maybe considered. Candidates should check previous years cut-off percentages to compare their chances of getting into the course. the cut-offs are easily available in the official portal of the University.

The placement cell of Ranchi University was established in 2010and has facilitated various recruitments by many prestigious companies like  Wipro, ICICI Bank, Tech Mahindra, Concentrix, Vodafone - Idea, Bajaj finance, H.D.F.C Bank, British telecom, Liker fashion, Piramal Swastya, Chola Mandalam, Deccan iservices, Kotak Talent Academy, JSLPS, Medica Hospital and many more. The number of students placed through the campus interviews is increasing year by year. 

Ranchi University offers both UG and PG courses and admission into these courses maybe entrance or merit based. Skill based courses like MBBS/BDS require NEET-UG scores and B.Tech requires JEE-Main or JCECE scores. M.Tech requires GATE scores followed by CCMT counselling. MBA requires CAT/MAT/CMAT/ATMA scores. Courses like B.Sc and M.Sc Nursing, LLB take admissions based on merits of previous qualifying exams. Admissions towards B.Ed courses are done by University conducted entrance exams. All other basic sciences and humanities courses, both UG and PG require CUET UG and CUET PG scores respectively. 

The cut-off of various exams differ. The number of candidates appearing and the number of candidates securing the highest marks and ranks are usually the determinant factors of cut-offs. For example, the NEET cut-off percentile is determined by this method-100xNumber of candidates appeared with a raw score equal to less than the candidate/total number of candidates who appeared. However the seat eligibitly may differ from cut-off marks. Cut-off marks may indicate the overall eligibilty of a candidate to apply for the admission but seats maybe alloted to the highest score bearers.
