Dissatisfied because of coaching, placements, and there is no values and humanity in the education.
Placements: There were not many placements than the previous year. It is worthless, especially for bioengineering. Politics played a role in placements also. It is a complete waste of money and time. There is no proper coaching of aptitude for the students who attended for placements.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is very well maintained. Food served in the hostel is poor. However, the food served in the canteen is good. Labs were well managed. Hostel rooms are bad, and there is no protective wall around the hostel. Beware of snakes and thieves. It has the worst maintained sanitary facility.
Faculty: Faculty members in the college are good. There is much improvement in the course and knowledge in the upcoming years. Future students will get much advanced in the field of science and research technology. Present courses are updated little. But the faculty members were not up to date with the syllabus. They must look into it.
Other: There are no fest and college tours organised for the students.

A college which played an integral part in shaping me as researcher.
Placements: Placements were excellent for my batch and for my seniors also. More than 85% of students got placed. According to my knowledge, the highest to the lowest salary offered were from 9 L. p. a to 3.5 L. p. a Companies such as Microsoft, Tata Consultancy Services, TATA Elxsi, Ashok Leyland, BYJU'S, OMICS International, City Union Bank, Fresh Desk, Mu sigma, Nestle. The placement cell in SASTRA has been wonderful. It helped us by providing necessary guidelines on how to attend the recruitment process of any organisation. I think we got wonderful experience in the campus interview process.
Infrastructure: We had world class infrastructure with syllabus that matched international standards and we people were exposed to different learning and practical processes. The labs were well-equipped and we had smart classes with increased efficiency to make us understandable. We had the most the fastest Wi-fi ability. The full campus has been facilitated with Wi-fi. The quality of food in mess and canteens was fantastic.
Faculty: The teachers of college were knowledgeable, student friendly, they have been always available outside classrooms for clearing our doubts, easily accessible. Since most of the teachers are Doctorates, the kind of knowledge we got was remarkable. We had mentors for each 10 students. We always had interaction session between the mentor and students around 10 days once, to know about our comfortabilities and discomforts in academic level. The course curriculum was marvellous and we were guided by research scholars available at SASTRA'S HUB FOR RESEARCH & INNOVATION. We have been constantly engaged to work in Government funded projects.
Other: Apart from curriculum we had inter-college and intra-college sports fests, cultural fests, technical fests happening. Our college has been an active member in these all. Students are encouraged to participate in Extra-curricular activities such as NCC, NSS, Clean green SASTRA. Students are found to be actively participating in Inter-college and Intra-college fests. There are times were SASTRA represented by our students in other college fests have won. Campus life is an amazing one to live and enjoy.

The college has excellent facilities, good infrastructure, placements and faculty.
Placements: There is a placement cell in SASTRA, where every year there will be a placement class conducted for all the students. It helps the students in preparing for the interview and aptitude test. Companies that visit the college every year are TCS, HCl, Zoho, Mu Sigma, Microsoft, Dr Reddy's Laboratories, L&T infotech, Ashok Leyland etc.
Infrastructure: The overall college infrastructure is excellent. There is a well-built research block in SASTRA. There are facilities like library, classrooms, canteen, sports area. There will be separate hostel canteens for girls and boys, and the outside food is not allowed. I didn't face any infrastructure related issues during my college.
Faculty: Teachers are well qualified, highly professional. The course curriculum will be revised every year. There will be a separate mentor for a group of students all the time to take care of their studies. Usually, the smart class will be there with powerpoint presentations.
Other: Every year there will be inter-college and intra-college technical and cultural fest. Also, national and international conferences will take place where students can organise themselves.

Students also asked

Q:   Can I join SASTRA without JEE?

A:

Admission to all the BTech courses is subject to JEE Main scores and Class 12 scores(given equal weightage) for 50% of the seats and is subject to Class 12 scores for the remaining 50% of the seats. However, as per the official website, there is no fixed or specific cutoff to get a seat here. It depends on the students who score the highest marks. If a student has appeared for JEE Main then they need to apply under stream 1 of admission. Additionally, as per the data available on the internet, if a student has a score of 90-95% in Class 12 and 50-120 in JEE Main, there is a high possibility of getting admission.

Q:   Is M.E./M.Tech at SASTRA University a good choice?

A:
{Source: M.E./M.Tech students & alumni}

Based on the reviews and feedback from current students and alumni, here's a summary of the pros and cons:

Infrastructure and Facilities:
* Well-maintained infrastructure, with good labs and library facilities
* Availability of Wi-Fi throughout the campus
* Clean and green surroundings
* Decent hostel facilities, though some complain about poor food and limited space

Teaching Quality:
* Faculty members are experienced and knowledgeable in their fields
* Encouragement towards practical learning and research
* Good balance between theoretical and practical education

Placements and Internship:
* High placement rates, with several students getting offers from reputed companies
* Core-based jobs are relatively fewer, with most being IT-related
* Average salary packages range from INR4-INR5 Lacs per annum
* Fewer internships available compared to other universities

Criticisms and Suggestions:
* Some students report poor food options in the hostel and canteen
* Limited social events and festivals organized by the college
* Some faculty members may not be up-to-date with the latest developments in their fields

Actually, Sastra University is a good choice for all departments. In Integrated medical nanotechnology, it had excellent labs, infrastructure, funded by central government. The course started back 3 to 4 years, so yet placements in that course need to know still.

Hello, frankly speaking nanotechnology field is a growing field in India. You can get more opportunities in abroad with this field. You can still get the job in India but only in research field. Good luck.

No exact answer can be given as admission in SASTRA is on the combined basis of boards and Mains score. Since you have a low boards percentage, you can only get into it if you have good Mains marks. However, the branch is non-core, hence the competition will not be much.
