Shivaji University, located in Kolhapur, was established in 1962. The university is accredited with Grade A by the NAAC. The university affiliates 276 colleges that are spread over three districts of Maharashtra, namely, Kolhapur, Sangli, and Satara. Shivaji Uiversity has better infrstruture than most of DU's collegesEvery year 70 to 80% of students got placements in Shivaji University with the lowest package of INR 2 LPA and the highest package of 7LPA. The companies that came to recruit are Infosys, HDFC, TCS, Wipro, ICICI Bank, IBM and Tech mahindra. The average package for M.Tech graduates is 3.5 LPA. There is a high scope of getting placement after completing M.Tech. The placements of M.Tech at Shivaji university are quite good as the placement rate is 80%. Accenture, Reliance Industries Limited, Amazon, Capgemini, ITC, KPMG etc., are top recruiting companies.However, the average package offered for B.Tech course at SNDT Women's University was Rs 3 LPA. The highest package was INR 5 LPA. The top recruiters are hospitals and private clinics. Almost 70% of the batch opted for internships during the second year. Almost 60 to 70% of students get placed on campus. The campus placement cell is handled by the students and is very active. Hence, it clearly depends upon the candidates to choose between these two universities depending upon their requirements.

There are various UG and PG courses offered at SNDT Women's University like MBA, BCA, B.Ed., PG Diploma, M.A., M.Sc. and many more. All courses are decent in terms of the opportunities provided to the students. It completely depends on the interest area of the student. The admission process for some courses is based on the admissionn test followed by personal interview while for other courses admission is given directly based on merit or merit based followed by personal interview. There is also an eligibility criteria which can be different for different courses. The institute has an updated curriculum as per industry requirements for all the offered courses.

The admission procedure includes a written entrance test, group discussion and personal interview.The total fees for the full-time MBA programme at SNDT Women’s University is approximately INR 1.5 Lacs (USD 1,900) for the entire two-year course. The fees include tuition fees, examination fees, development fees, library fees, laboratory fees, student welfare fund and other miscellaneous charges. The fees is to be paid in two installments every year - the first installment at the time of admission and the second installment in the month of January.
