Yes, you can apply directly with the GATE score. It's not mandatory to go with JEE. If you have a good score in GATE then there nothing to worry.

SRM is a great institute to pursue any Bachelor degree as it has got a good ranking in NIRF. But this institution costs you much. No other drawbacks. Good luck!

B.Tech has higher value than B.Sc. But. As u say B.Tech has only better value if u finishes it from a better college. So in my viewpoint finish B.Sc. CS from S. R. M and then do a master degree. This will fetch u with good salary package. Good
