The University Grants Commission (UGC) is a statutory body established in 1956 by the Government of India through an Act of Parliament for the coordination, determination and maintenance of standards of university education in India.

Private University is a university established through a State/ Central Act by a sponsoring body viz. a Society, a Public Trust or a Company. Such universities may be independent of UGC control over day-to-day activities, but cannot award degrees, affiliate institutes/colleges or set up off campus centres etc. without the UGC's approval.

| Grade 'A' accredited by NAAC

The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) is an autonomous body established by the UGC to assess and accredit institutions of higher education in the country. It grades an institution from A++ (best rating) to C. Rating D indicates that the institution is not accredited.

Dear friend, Getting a job to your dream company totally depends on your competencies, smartness and attitude. College can only assist you to get that, but you have to perform well at the final stage. As per my knowledge, the college assists you in terms of placements. You can easily pursue a BA degree from a local college. The gap and division should affect your admission unless you are applying for big colleges or main campuses. It would be better to pursue it from distance too if you don't want to do regular classes. But I wouldn't recommend that since you already have a 10 year gap and you may need some guidance to study.
