When comparing just the tuition costs, NLSIU is noticeably more expensive than TNDALU. The cheaper hostel costs at TNDALU, however, somewhat make up for the disparity. Living costs are much more in Bangalore than they are in Chennai. Considering all of these variables, NLSIU's overall tuition for undergraduate programmes is probably more expensive than TNDALU's, however specific scholarship circumstances may differ. For postgraduate programmes, the difference in tuition fees between NLSIU and TNDALU is less, while the costs for housing are the same. Living costs are considerably greater in Bangalore than they are in Chennai, though. As a result, although the difference is somewhat smaller than for UG programmes, the overall cost of attending NLSIU for PG programmes is probably going to be somewhat more than TNDALU.

The majority of TNDALU Chennai's programmes do not take entrance exam results into account while determining admission. The only factor used in their selection procedure is the candidate's score on the qualifying exam. The qualifying 10+2 or equivalent test is the basis for selection for the 3-year LLB degree. The minimum mark required for General category applicants is 70%, while for SC/ST applicants it is 60%. The All India Merit Rank (AIR) in the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is used to select students for the five-year B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) degree. Those who make the short list must attend on-campus counselling and submit their final admission documents. For some specialised programmes like M.Phil. and Ph.D., TNDALU may hold its own admission tests in addition to other selection criteria like interviews. For LL.M. Degrees, the selection is based on the marks received in the LLM admission Exam given by TNDALU itself.

Compared to TNDALU, NLSIU has a far greater reputation both domestically and abroad. While TNDALU is not included in the majority of top law school rankings, it often ranks in the top three law schools in India. Graduates at NLSIU have access to more prestigious and well-paying job possibilities since the university draws a greater selection of elite legal firms and companies for campus placements. Opportunities in corporate law, litigation, and foreign law firms fall under this category. While TNDALU promises respectable placements with a number of reputable law firms, the recruiters' overall prestige and range may be lesser than that of NLSIU.Compared to TNDALU's Law programme, NLSIU has a better established and longer history. More established ties with employers and a more robust alumni network are the results of this. When compared to TNDALU's Law programme, NLSIU's tuition is substantially more. Thus, for certain students, TNDALU is a more cost-effective choice. NLSIU is regarded as superior to TNDALU after all is said and done.
