The labs are very good and all the equipments are there in the campus. Biotech dept at thapar has a lot of funding and there wont be any complaint on the part of the equitments and intruments . if you want a list of all the equipment would be glad to provide it too.
The faculties are very good. Little strict but that is nessesary and there are all the PhD students that help a lot .

Hi,
If you wish to pursue M.Tech after B.Tech then Thapar University would be the best. You can also opt for IIIT - Bhubaneswar.

If you are not keen interested in computer languages, I don't recommend B.Tech in CSE because in today's world there is a huge crowd of students in CSE and in near future there will be very tough competition in IT field.

Hi Vimal,
The field of Instrumentation has undergone rapid changes in recent times with the advent of real time applications, high speed computing, data acquisition and feedback systems, high speed telemetry, advanced remote control systems to name a few.
Graduates of this discipline find employment in automated production process industries like steel, cement, automobiles, rubber, food products and packaging. CNC controlled machines and equipment, computer aided manufacturing, robotics and automation are all growing and expanding.
Another aspect of Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering lies in the engineer's involvement in field of Automation. Automation being one of the latest trend in all Industries, is therefore highly in need for expertise in the field of Electronics and Instrumentation to achieve the requirements. Control and Optimization is another important criterion in many Industries. Electronics and Instrumentation engineers having good exposure in these areas will be highly effective in solving various critical needs of the Industries Focus Areas Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering is a versatile field focuses on areas like Telecommunication, Robotics, Biomedical, Computer Control in Process applications, VLSI, Fiber Optics etc… Job Oppurtunities Electronics and Instrumentation Engineers have a bright future ahead of them as they are needed by almost all Industries in various cadres like Design, Development, Fabrication, Inspection, Quality control, Maintenance and Service and so on.
Hope it helps. Please feel free to revert.
Wish you luck.

Hello Rajiv
I am in the final year and speaking to you frankly the placement is dependent on the caliber of the student, university offers you the chance and many companies come in for placement and training . Plenty for all the students but it is the students that don't work hard usually don't qualify. As for the Average package till last year i would say the average was about Rs.6.6-Rs.6.9 Lac per year. Highest i remember was from Amazon.in Rs.27 Lac (cost to company). There is no need to be insecure about , the fee is high but its on you how you spend your time in college that decides your future.
