If you have missed UPESMET then there is only one way to get admission in UPES which is the non-exam pathway.
In this process, you have to qualify for the minimum marks set by the university for various National level entrance tests like CAT, MAT, XAT, GMAT etc. If you are having the required score in these National level entrance tests then you'll be given admission in UPES.

It purely depends on what specialisation you are interested in and what are your parameters for evaluating a place of study. You would consider following facts before entering a college:
A) Faculty
B) Infrastructure
C) Placements
D) Practical exposure
E) Credibility
Nirma and UPES both qualify all these parameters. Now, the only differentiate here would be the specialisation that both these colleges offer. If you have appeared for UPES-EAT and have been invited for Counselling then you must attend the counselling to know in details about each of the specializations offered here as there would be very limited information available through word of mouth on these topics. According to me, UPES seems to be a better option between the two. The M.Tech. HSE programme of UPES will help you to manage the safety needs of the organizations. Further, you can choose a sub-domain under this course among:-
-Infrastructure Industry
-Power Industry
-Fire Safety
Apart from this, UPES has a different course Of M.Tech HSE with specialization in Disaster Management. So UPES will be a wise choice to opt for.

UPES, Dehradun has petroleum engineering. So it is totally a different field. In SIIB Pune you will study about energy and environment management and sustainability so this is completely a different field.
