The VIT ranking mentioned is not up to the mark for securing admission in CSE/ME/CE/EC at VIT in the first category. However, he may get admission in the subsequent categories, but that will also incur you higher fees. So, if your son has a good preparation till date for BITSAT and advanced, then you can drop VIT, otherwise, go for the counseling at VIT. Best Wishes.

You can't get admission in Diploma course in VIT. But you can get an admission for a degree course once you complete your Diploma with around 80%.

1. A minimum of 60% mark is required in undergraduate degree from a recognized University or Institution.
2. A Bachelor's degree should be of minimum of three years duration after completion of higher secondary education (10+2) or equivalent.
3. The candidate should have studied in regular full-time programmes.
4. The candidates appearing for final year examination in 2018, whose results will be published before August 2018, are also eligible to apply.
5. Relevant work experience will be an added advantage.
6. The candidate should have taken any one of the tests- CAT/XAT/MAT/NMAT/GMAT/CMAT and the scores should be made available to the admissions office before the last date of application. Further the validity of MAT is remains for one year, so your MAT score is still valid. Good Luck.
