Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) is a popular university offering various courses including B.E. in Information Technology (Lateral Entry). The cutoff information for the B.E. in Information Technology (Lateral Entry) program at VIT varies each year and depends on various factors such as the number of applicants, availability of seats, and the performance of the applicants in the qualifying examination. However, based on the previous year's cutoff trends, the expected cutoff for the BE. in Information Technology (Lateral Entry) program at VIT can be estimated to be around 60-70 marks out of 100. It is important to note that this is only an estimate and the actual cutoff may vary based on the factors mentioned above. The cutoff information for the current academic year (2023-24) has not yet been released by the institute. It is recommended to regularly check the official website of VIT for the latest updates on cutoffs and admissions for the BE. in Information Technology (Lateral Entry) program.

Hello, it's very nice to know you have a desire to get a seat in this great deemed-to-be university for the graduate course of engineering in the branch of computer science engineering. Of course, it is a well-known fact that the students who pass out of this branch get a place almost immediately and also in good positions, and also almost all the students get placed. As a result of this, almost every student gave this branch as the first choice and as a result of this the closing ranks or the closing percentile is really quite high. In such a situation it is best to make use of the college predictor for the entrance exam conducted by VIT to get an educated guess since this predictor is based on the results of previous many years. Here is the link to go to this for your help and benefit.

Deciding on placement opportunities in a specific programme at a university can depend on various factors, including your academic performance, relevant skills, and the specific requirements and policies of the university and its placement cell. While it is not possible for me to provide a definitive answer regarding your placement at VIT Vellore's Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) department, I can offer some general insights. Transitioning from a B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering to an M.Tech in Computer Science can be a significant shift, as the two fields are distinct. However, with a strong passion for computer Science and a willingness to learn and adapt, it is certainly possible to pursue an M.Tech in Computer Science. Here are a few considerations:
Admission requirements: Look into the specific admission requirements for the M.Tech programme in Computer Science at VIT Vellore. Check if they have any specific prerequisites or eligibility criteria for candidates with a background in a different discipline. Bridge courses or prerequisites: Some universities offer bridge courses or prerequisites to help students from different backgrounds bridge the knowledge gap between their previous degree and the desired field. Find out if VIT Vellore provides such options for students transitioning from Mechanical Engineering to Computer Science. Skill development: To increase your chances of placement in the CSE field, focus on developing relevant computer Science skills. Engage in self-study or take online courses to gain knowledge in programming, algorithms, data structures, and other fundamental concepts of computer Science. Building a strong foundation in these areas can enhance your prospects during the placement process. Networking and internships: Make an effort to connect with the faculty, students, and alumni of the CSE department at VIT Vellore. Attend departmental events, seminars, and workshops to expand your network and gain insights into the field. Additionally, consider pursuing internships or projects in the computer Science domain to gain practical experience and showcase your skills.

No, all students in VIT (Vellore Institute of Technology) do not necessarily get placements after graduation. Placement opportunities depend on several factors such as the industry demand, student's academic performance, skills, and experience, etc. While VIT has a good track record of placements and many students do get placed in reputed companies, it is not a guarantee for all students. VIT has a dedicated Placement and Training Centre PAT that works towards providing placement opportunities for its students. The PAT conducts training programs, industry interactions, and placement drives throughout the year to help students prepare for the recruitment process. However, the ultimate decision of hiring a student depends on the company's recruitment policies, the student's performance in the recruitment process, and other related factors.
