  • The MAT prepares candidates to be successful in obtaining New York State teacher certification as both an Early Childhood Teacher (birth-grade 2) and a Teacher of Students with Disabilities (birth-grade 2) or as a Childhood Teacher (grades 1-6) and a Teacher of Students with Disabilities (grades 1-6)
  • Graduates will be well-positioned for employment in high-needs schools within the New York City Department of Education, as well as charter and private schools, or early childhood centers
  • The Master of Arts in Teaching is a 42-credit, dual degree program consisting of 10 core courses and two student teaching courses, plus submission of the edTPA for Students with Disabilities (SWD), as required for New York State certification
