Wenzhou Medical University: Courses, Admission, Cost

Wenzhou Medical University (WMU) is a multi-disciplinary educational institute under the Department of Education of Zhejiang Province. The historical backdrop of Wenzhou Medical University can be followed back to Zhejiang Specialized Medical School, which was built in Hangzhou in 1912. In August 1958, some part of Zhejiang Medical College was moved from Hangzhou to Wenzhou and started enrolling 5-year full-time program students, subsequently, the name Wenzhou Medical College (WMC) which was upgraded to Wenzhou Medical University (WMU or WZMU) in 2013.

It has 3 campuses, and the main campus is situated at Chashan University Town of Wenzhou. The university offers MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery which is equivalent to Medicinae Baccalaureus, Baccalaureus Chirurgiae, MB BChir, BM BCh, MB BCh, MB ChB, BM BS, BM, and BMed).

Chinese Government Scholarship Program is set up by the Ministry of Education of P.R. China (referred to as MOE) as per educational exchange agreements or understandings reached between the Chinese government and the legislatures of different nations, associations, and training establishments to give full and partial scholarships. MOE entrusts China Scholarship Council (referred to as CSC) to deal with the enlistment and do the routine management of the Chinese Government Scholarship Programme. Master's Degree Students get scholarships of 2 to 3 academic years and Doctoral Degree Students get scholarships of 3 to 4 academic years

Some notable alumni are Prof. Miao Tianrong - the winner of National Science Conference, Prof. Qian Li - an abdominal surgeon who greatly influenced domestic surgeons, and Wang Guangjie (Tenure professor of New England College, USA, and first place in USA OD license Examination in 1991).
