History
Trinity College Dublin was created by Royal Charter in the year 1592. The Engineering School was established in 1842 and was one of the first of its kind in the English-speaking world. The expansion of the college’s teaching activity during the 19th century was evident in the changing campus landscape. For the first time in 1904, women students became a part of the college in 1904. The modest agreement in 1947 marks the beginning of Trinity’s transition towards becoming a large-funded university, although this was not apparent until the 1970s. The real growth in student numbers also became evident in the 1970s.

Indian students seeking admission to TCD must meet the following entry requirements:
- UG: The applicants must have completed Class 12 with an overall average of 80% - 85% in six subjects of Class 12. A language other than English and Mathematics must be taken as a subject up to Class 10
- PG: The applicants are required to have a 2:1 Honors degree from an Irish University or an equivalent result from a university in another country
