Established in 1984, the institute was initiated as a company called Informatics Software, providing professional training courses in information technology. In 2001, the company was renamed as the East Asia Institute of Management. The college offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs along with a diploma and advanced diploma courses in various subjects.
The institute offers courses in subjects such as hospitality & tourism management, business management, accounting, finance, business information systems, marketing, medical bioscience, real estate management and psychology. In the Hospital and Tourism Management department, BA (Hons) International Hospitality & Tourism Management (Top-up), MSc in International Hospitality Management and Leadership with Hospitality (Top-up), Diploma in International Hospitality Management and Advanced Diploma in International Hospitality Management courses are offered. The Business and Management department offers courses such as an MBA with a specialisation in marketing, finance, strategic planning, human resource management, M.Sc in Marketing, along with a diploma and an advanced diploma in business management. A variety of courses in logistic management, allied health sciences and design, media & arts are available.
The institute has collaborations with Queen Margaret University, Aston University, Edinburgh Business School and Heriot-Watt University. The institute offers many scholarship opportunities to students. These include EAMU Local Merit Scholarship Awards-Cambodia, EASB Scholarships (Cambodia), EASB - Yew Tee CCC Education Scheme (Singapore), EASB - SAFRA Educational Sponsorship Scheme (Singapore), EASB - Lions Scholarship (Malaysia), and EASB Academic Excellence Scholarship. The institute offers pre-placement training to students. The placement and training centre organises workshops focusing on CV writing, personal grooming, interview skills, work ethics, job search and group discussion skills.
Apart from the classroom training, students are given in-house hospitality training by the institute's EASB's Hospitality & Tourism Training Centre (HTTC). EASB follows a holistic approach to education.
