Murdoch University Admissions 2025: Application Deadline, Requirements & Costs

Murdoch University is a public university. It is based in Perth, Western Australia, and was founded in 1973. Murdoch University is a public university supported by the government and operated as a nonprofit organisation to provide education and research opportunities to the general public.

The Murdoch University is Perth's second institution of higher learning. According to the QS World University Rankings 2024, Murdoch University is ranked #431. More than 400 undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs are available at the university in a number of fields, including business, law, the creative and performing arts, communication, engineering, health, science, cultural and social studies, education, and technology. The company has a primary campus in Perth and satellite campuses in Dubai and Singapore. The South Street Campus, Peel Campus, and Rockingham Campus are the three campuses where the institution holds its classes in Australia. The South Street Campus makes up the university's main campus and is situated in a suburban area. Several clubs for sports like tennis, netball, soccer, basketball, hockey, volleyball, and badminton are also maintained by the institution.

• Successful completion of a four-year Engineering degree accredited by Engineers Australia (or equivalent Washington Accord-recognised degree) in an approved field of Engineering,  
• Successful completion of a Bachelor's degree (AQF Level 7, non-Washington Accord), or an equivalent qualification, as recognised by Murdoch University, which includes prior studies in Engineering or Engineering Technology,
• Evidence of an appropriate level of industrial experience and possession of a Bachelor's degree (AQF Level 7) in a cognate area as approved by the Academic Chair or their designate

After that, if your application is accepted, you will receive an offer letter from the university. This offer letter will contain all the required details about the date of commencement of the program, the relevant course fees of the course you have opted for, deadlines for the payment due, and other important dates. For your confirmation, you will have to revert your signed acceptance and pay the required fees. Then, the university will issue you an electronic Confirmation of Enrolment (eCOE), with which you can begin your visa application process.

Murdoch University offers about 18 international scholarships to undergraduate, postgraduate, and PhD (research) students. The different scholarships available to international students are based on:

• Academic achievements

• Personal or financial hardship

• Region-specific

• Studying abroad

International students should meet these criteria to be eligible for the scholarship offered by Murdoch:

• Must be an international student

• Should be a full-time and full fee-paying student at the Perth campus

• Receive an ATAR score of more than 92 (or its equivalent in an international qualifying academic program) within the most recent year and a half from the end date of the award

• Apply to study a course-work in one of the majors offered in the order of Engineering and Energy, Information Technology, or Maths and Statistics

• Students are not receiving any other Murdoch grant/scholarship

Min 60% average in best 4 academic subjects – for Class XII (Senior Secondary) qualifications awarded by CBSE/CISCE/NIOS

Min 65% average in best 4 academic subjects – for Higher Secondary Certificate or equivalent awarded by Indian State Boar

TOEFL - Marks - 73/120 (No band less than 18)

PTE - Marks - 50/90 (No band less than 50)

IELTS - Marks - 6/9 (With no band below 6.0)

English Proficiency Waiver - Applicants must have passed All India Senior School Certificate/Indian School Certificate/Senior Secondary Certificate with 70% or higher in English year 12 or B2 and above to exempt English language proficiency

The standard application fee for all Western Australian universities is AUD 165 when applying through the Tertiary Institutions Service Centre (TISC). The TISC is an incorporated administrative agency that assists in processing applications for Western Australian Universities. So, if you apply through an agent of TISC (as the university recommends), you will have to pay a fee of AUD 165. The fee is the same for both UG and PG students.

The Murdoch University admission requirements for international students are:

1) You must have successfully completed a bachelor's degree in a related field to be eligible to apply for an honours degree.

2) You must have earned a relevant undergraduate degree to be eligible to apply for the majority of postgraduate programs. When you can provide documentation of professional work experience, you can be eligible for admission.

3) In order to be considered for a research degree, you must present documentation of your academic or professional achievements. This proof must show that you have the expertise and experience required to carry out the research project you've outlined.

Entry requirements vary between degrees, but are likely to include one or more of the following:

• An honours qualification – completion of a bachelor's degree with first-class honours (or upper second class honours) from Murdoch, or the equivalent at another university.

• A postgraduate coursework qualification – completion of other postgraduate qualifications that involved a substantial research project, such as a master’s degree.

• Other qualifications or work experience – evidence of your professional work experience conducting research projects. If you’ve led large projects, presented at conferences, published research outcomes, or implemented organizational change, these might demonstrate your ability to fulfill the entry requirements.

4) Prior to submitting an application for admission, prospective international research applicants must fill out and submit an EOI in Higher Degree Research Candidature form.

The admission requirements are as follows:

Graduation - Applicants must have completed a Bachelor's degree (AQF Level 7) or higher or equivalent in any field, Or

Successful completion of a Graduate Certificate in Business Administration (or equivalent); or satisfactory preparation for the course through formal, informal or non-formal learning and/or professional experiences subject to the approval of the Academic Chair.

Work Experience - Minimum: 24 Months

Applicants must have at least two years relevant work experience

TOEFL - Marks - 73/120 (No band less than 18)

The Murdoch MBA programme is divided into two leadership skills modules and four flagship units. Each of the MBA's four flagship courses, which focus on business context, leadership, and strategy, is worth six credit points. This programme is intended to provide students with a firm foundation in both management and finance, as well as to prepare them for the problems that come with running a business or organization.
