St. Clair College Admissions 2025: Application Deadline, Requirements & Costs

The St. Clair College of Applied Arts and Technology is a public college which is located in Windsor Essex and Chatham Kent Ontario. The college has established agreements related to licensing in Toronto, Mississauga and Brampton, Ontario, Canada with Ace Acumen Academy which is a registered private career college.

St Clair College accepts Indian students only with following requirements fulfilled:

·       High School Diploma and Grade 12 transcript

·       IELTS score with overall 6.0

·       Graduation certificate and transcript or equivalent in original language

St Clair College offers scholarships to international students who are enrolled full-time and have a satisfactory academic standing and a valid Social Insurance Number. The college has more than 10,000 international students who have graduated. St Clair also has international alumni who are now contributing to the global workforce around the world.

St. Clair College acceptance rate is 44% which is moderately selective. It accepts 44 out of 100 applicants which means the admission criteria is slightly selective therefore all the applicants are required to submit their best grades. Admission to St. Clair is based on a first-come, first-served basis. However, the college has set minimum level score requirements for English Proficiency tests, based on which your eligibility for the concerned programme will be determined.

The admission requirements at St. Clair College differs for certificate programs, Bachelors and Graduate certificates. However, general requirements are listed below:

• Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) with a score of 50% or better, or equivalent for UG certificate/diploma
• Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) with specific classes and an overall average grade of 65% or better, or  equivalent for Bachelor degree   
• Ontario College Diploma, Ontario College Advanced Diploma, University Degree, or equivalent for PG certificate 
• Proof of English language proficiency through IELTS, TOEFL, or Duolingo
• Study permit to study in Canada

The college charges an application fee of CAD 125 or INR7.707.89  at the time of filling the application. This fee is standard across all programs.

All payments are accepted through the International Payment Portal using a valid credit card, wire transfer or e-wallet. The portal saves you from the bank fees and exchange rate. You can even track your entire payment progress online.

 

As the applications are accepted through the Ontario Colleges portal, you may hear from St. Clair College the earliest by early February. The college may keep accepting students depending on the number of applications and seats available per program. If accepted, you must respond to your offer letter the latest by early May. In case you miss the deadline, your application may still be considered if your programme of choice has open spots. However, that is up to chance and does not guarantee admission.

As an international student, you will be required to submit the following documents:

• High school diploma/graduation certificate and XII grade transcripts
• English Proficiency Test results (IELTS/PTE/Duolingo)

If you wish to apply for the Student Partners Program (SPP), you will need to provide English proficiency scores of IELTS 6.0 (with no band lower than 5.5), no older than two years.

If you do not meet the minimum score requirements for TOEFL or IELTS, you will be required to write the English Proficiency Test (CanTEST) after arrival at the college. If you do not pass the CanTEST, you will need to register for the St. Clair College English as a Second Language (ESL) programme before you become eligible for post-secondary programs.

The application procedure at St. Clair College for international students is given as follows:

• Keep the required documents ready in-hand before starting the application which includes the university transcripts and diploma, English Language Scores report, passport or citizenship documents.
• The applicant must secure a payment option for the CAD 125 application fee submission
• Applicants must visit the official college website using the online application platform
• After applying, making the payment and confirming the application, the applicant will receive an email notification as related to the process of application.
• As given on the Letter of Acceptance, if the student is accepted then they need to pay the confirmation tuition fee.
• The student must apply for their Canadian Study Permit (visa) by submitting the documents and other required documents as well.

The Canadian Academic English Language Computer Edition (CAEL CE) is the scholarship that is offered to international students. Each year, two international students will be awarded scholarships worth CAD 4,000 each and two runner-ups will win scholarships worth CAD 500 each. Two international students each will be chosen from the following two categories:

• International students currently studying in Canada
• International students currently studying overseas

The following is the eligibility criteria for the examination:

• Submit the CAEL CE Test for admission to a Canadian university/college as proof of proficiency in the English language
• Score 70 or higher on the test
• Complete the essay
• Admitted or enrolled in a Canadian post-secondary institution

All scholarship aspirants need to take the CAEL CE Test between July 1 and April 30 of next year.

Step 1: Log on to the official college website and sign into the “International Application Portal”. You will be taken to the application portal for Ontario Colleges. Now, create a new account. As you were directed to the page through the official college website, your college choice will already be recorded as St. Clair College.

Step 2: You will be sent a link to activate your account on your official e-mail address. Clicking on that link will take you to the Welcome page of St. Clair College. This will allow you to start your application process for the said college.

The college does not require its applicants to sit for an interview.

The St. Clair College Foundation’s general scholarship is a programme that aims to focus on deserving students with financial awards that support their journey after post-secondary school. The highlights of this programme are given as follows:

• The students applying for this scholarship must be in good academic standing to be eligible and this award is given to students for varying reasons based on merit.
• While awarding the students, the college works with their donors to look into factors such as programme qualifications, academics, extracurricular participation and financial needs.
• Every year, St. Clair College Foundation awards more than CAD 550,000 in general scholarships to approximately 715 academically good students.
• These awards provide the students with the financial support that they require for their studies.

The steps to apply for St. Clair College general scholarship are given as follows:

• The application for the general scholarship is available every year from October 1 to December 1.
• Students can apply through the Student Information System (SIS) account and are required to complete a single scholarship every year.
• The St. Clair College Foundation works with a selective committee which are made of faculty, administration, college staff and donors to select the successful candidates for scholarships that are available for scholarships.
• The candidates who are successful in getting the scholarship are notified through their college email and provided details of their awards.

As an international student, you will be required to have a Canadian Study Permit issued by the Canadian Embassy in order to study in Canada. You can apply for the same only after you have received an acceptance letter from the college.

The following are the minimum eligibility requirements for Indian students:

• High school Diploma and transcripts
• The Canadian Academic English Language (CAEL) 60 with no band below 50
• IELTS 6.0 overall (individual band score not lower than 6.0)
• Pearson Test of English (PTE) Level 51
• Duolingo (Score of 100)

Proficiency test results must not be over two years old from the date of submitting the application.

Yes, St. Clair College offers on-campus facility to its students in two campuses, namely Windsor and Chatham. Windsor has 204, two-bedroom suites that come fully furnished with a kitchenette with microwave and mini-fridge. At Chatham, the college has a 12-unit, 48-student residence. Each unit comes with four bedrooms, a fully-furnished kitchen, living room and two bathrooms.
