Good campus with friendly people.
Tips: Drexel as a university has a mix of academic rigour and a more practical experience which ultimately benefits in the workplace scenario. By studying here, I have learnt the need to stay organised and manage my time well as even a slight misbalance can lead to a lot of stress. There are lots of Indian food options available but it might be costly to eat out most of the days so cooking can be the best alternative. The faculty is very helpful, friendly and supportive and you can reach out to them in case of any problem. Everything else has been good so far.

Learning a lot with supportive and understanding faculty.
Tips: Studying at Drexel is truly very unique experience among the usual college experience in the United States. But the co-op programme is something you should really look into as this will make you realise the true potential of networking in an experiential learning setting and how far it can go. There are lots of job opportunities so start looking for them during your last semester. Do participate in clubs, seminars, activities and events. Overall, I had a good experience.

Very multidimensional place.
Tips: My time so far has been rewarding as I have learned a lot and gained a lot of opportunities for my own development. My professors are very knowledgeable and you can gain a lot of insight from them. Philadelphia is a lovely city with lots of food options available. Public transportation is very convenient, affordable and easy to use so you can explore the city on a budget. Overall, I am quite satisfied with my course, college and the country.

The university provided a very unique and interesting experience.
Tips: Studying at Drexel University has given me an ideal academic and social experience. The major highlight here for me was the co-op programme which allows you to have a more practical experience of whatever you are learning in the classrooms. My advice is that you start your co-op search early and get help from the academic services.

Decent college that provides good education.
Tips: Students should learn to be self-sufficient fundamentally and emotionally. It is important that you take some time before the commencement of your classes to simply explore campus and be a part of as many cultural and peer groups as you can handle, at least initially.

Drexel University is enriching and full of experiences.
Tips: Before joining Drexel University, students should be aware of the following:
1. Co-op programme
2. Fast-paced Quarter semester
3. Urban Environment
4. Research opportunities
5. Financial Considerations.
By understanding the key aspects of Drexel university, student can make informed decisions.
Likes (Public transportation): Drexel University's location in Philadelphia offers excellent access to public transportation options. The proximity of SEPTA's subways, bus, and regional rail lines makes it convenient for students to travel around the city and beyond. Additionally, the university provides discounted transit passes.
Dislikes (Student Life): Attending Drexel University has been an enriching experience. The programme offers invaluable real-world experience, complementing rigorous academic courses. The campus environment is vibrant, with ample opportunities for involvement in clubs and activities.

Be open mindedness to success.
Tips: Before joining Drexel be sure to know what you want to do in your career because it is important that the kind of work you would like to do has to light with your academic progression. It would be slightly more difficult to learn a subject differently in academics and transition into a field that has no relation to what you studied or researched.

The coursework is fast paced and the education system is quite good.
Tips: Students should be aware that the university coursework is fast paced and it runs in a quarter system which in the initial days is difficult to coup. Later on, adapting to the culture of USA education system is also quite difficult in the starting if you are not open minded. Also, the education and the delivery of the course is quite good and so far everything is going on well and good.

Drexel, a life of hustle that pays off.
Tips: Students must make up their mind to adapt to a hustle life since the quarter system is fast and demanding. Culturally, there were no problems for me personally. Scholarships depend on your academic integrity and accomplishments. You can apply for external scholarships if you have the backing of a professor and meet the requirements for the scholarship/fellowship.
Likes (Student Life): Drexel has decent amenities like a park and a recreational center for sports that students can use to catch up on their personal life. Drexel clubs also organise many activities. It totally depends on how the student will use these amenities. There are clubs for all sorts of things from academic to entertainment to sports.
Dislikes (Part time work): I see a lot of students struggling to get part time jobs either in college or with partner companies on campus. Some students are managing part time jobs like working in a cafe/restaurant or TA/RA without any issues to their academic journey. Average part time pay is around 10-20 dollars per hour but it depends on the company.

You can get any help from the college just need to know where to ask.
Tips: Students before joining this college should need to know about the good place to live and good places to eat.
The college also gives scholarships for the students and conducts some free food donation every week where students can go and grab some food.
There are also some student groups which will focus on student problems and try to sort them out.
Likes (Public transportation): There different sources of transportation here and which can easily take to most of the places which we want and also they are very cheap and reasonable
They will be there 24-7 and easily accessible the payment mode is also easy to understand and there will be guidelines everywhere .
Dislikes (Internships): Internship opportunities are low because for our course we need prior experience and the market right now is bad here. Maybe later in 2026 there might be some easy opportunities to grab into.
And moreover there are plenty of opportunities for civil engineering according to my knowledge here.

Hectic but worth the struggle.
Tips: Quarter system is followed, and for Masters degree you need to complete 45 credits in 2 and a half months. Whereas, other universities graduate students need to complete 30 credit in 5 months, hence it is very hectic and stressful to manage initially.
Likes (Student Life): There are a lot of student networking events, cultural and diversity events where students can participate. There are several clubs and associations where student can take part, and can join in arts, robotics, and musical clubs. There are graduate student associations which can be joined too.
Dislikes (Part time work): It is difficult to get on campus jobs as there are a lot of people who try for it. 15% of students get part time jobs, rest don't get it. 15-18$ is the pay and it is better to apply part-time before joining the course that is when you are in India and to apply as many part-time as possible.

Easy transition to the new environment.
Tips: Overall satisfaction (for MS in MLE): 4/5
I have a partial scholarship. Drexel has many international students, and this helped me transition easier to the new environment. I met some of my friends by being a part of Drexel's clubs like SWE and WiCS.
Likes (Quality of faculty): The faculty members are usually approachable, and willing to help students. Drexel follows a quarter system, and the College of Engineering is quite research-oriented. The classes have a good mix of theoretical and project-based activities. Most of my professors are American, but I've had professors from other countries occasionally.
Dislikes (Safety): Drexel University campus is located near the Powelton area and West Philly, which is not the safest area in Philly. There have been cases of armed robbery near Drexel's campus, and I do not feel completely safe to walk by myself at night in the Powelton and Mantua neighborhoods.

Everything is good except for its tuition fees which is a lot compared to other universities.
Tips: I came to Drexel University directly, and there is a shift in culture which obviously different from my country India. I got dean assistantship and there is no other scholarship in CCI for Computer Science, Data Science, Information Science. You can apply for external scholarships.
Likes (Public transportation): There are university buses, public transport which is very handy to travel place to place. It is not totally connected to the city, but it is only 10-15 mins away which we can go by public or Drexel transportation. There are buses, trails, trains, cab.
Dislikes (Part time work): On-Campus jobs at Drexel university are very limited like only a max of 10 out of 100 people and off-campus is not so safe as Philadelphia is the top city in crime. If you get a part time, it is very easy to manage with academics. Average pay-out for on-campus placements will be around 13$.

At Drexel University you need to put effort on your own.
Tips: Students coming here should thoroughly review the course and because it is the quarter system it is going to be very fast-paced so need to cope up with it. I emailed the admission team to request a scholarship and received around 12000$.
I would say after my first quarter the course taught was interesting you should put your efforts into learning and ask questions to professors.

City is unsafe but the course is excellent.
Tips: Scholarships offered: there are multiple scholarships the school offers. Please read up on some that you will be eligible for. Co-op programme: The best part about Drexel is the coop programme that allows you to work for up to 1 year for a role related to your study.
Part time work opportunities: Many on-campus opportunities that allow students to gain different experiences.
Likes (Public transportation): Great connectivity as well as a free bus service: there are subways station all over campus that make commute easier but not just that, there are school buses that take you around Philly throughout the day to make commute easier for students. It is also free for all Drexel students.
Dislikes (Safety): Multiple safety incidents on campus including shootings, carjackings, and robberies. Most part of the campus is safe but moving ahead of campus it can get a little scary, especially at night. Near unsafe neighborhoods of Philly: university city is the Drexel and UPenn campus together. Though there are many public safety offices around both campus through the night. Moving West from our campus, the unsafe neighbourhoods of Philly are present. Be aware and careful when moving around there, especially at night.

Tips: USF offers several opportunities and exposure throughout one's life in college which I have found very valuable. The faculty and professors are open-minded and helpful when needed and if there is something that needs to be improved, it is the limited class sizes as it affects registration for classes. Public transportation is very convenient and affordable. Students should explore as much as they can.

The university is great and the faculty is understanding and friendly.
Tips: Please don't get into the part-time trap. A lot of people work just to earn money, some work off campus even after on-campus part-time, just to earn money and buy stuff that is not that important during their studies. Students should try to get a GA, they get a full waiver. The university has its own bus service which is very helpful to travel anywhere in the University as the campus is huge. It's free for all USF students and even in the whole of Tampa, local bus service is free for USF students. You can travel pretty much anywhere in the city and explore freely.

Tips: Students should know that the college is an enjoyable place, but there is a lot of change in cultural differences. Interestingly vast ways of experiences to success.
Tips: Take the SAT and score high to get good scholarships. Naviation is necessary, so make sure you know how to read maps. Don't rely on wheels. Walking is often necessary, as buses get full quite quickly during common class hours. Mostly early morning. I am overall very satisfied and I am a proud USF Bull. You can use the public bus for free using your student ID. And the card is very powerful, and holds vital information. Usf students get discounts almost everywhere. People are very friendly. And you will definitely find your country's people here. Join your country club and you will stay more involved. Monitor on Instagram. Talk to current students from your country before coming and know about everything possible.
Likes (Safety): Police are always on campus. The safety team ensures students can reach home safely at night. Travelling safely through the Tampa campus can easily be done for free. The campus is totally safe. Even if it is 3 o'clock at night. I walk home alone every night and nothing bad ever happened. The bus is available till midnight excluding weekends.
Dislikes (Part time work): The on campus jobs are rare, but that does not mean jobs are not available. Applying at the correct place at the correct time with a proper resume can get you a job on campus. And off-campus is a risk to work. Managing work and studies is going to be a challenge. Maximum is 20 hours
a week, most students end up with 10-13 maximum. Rarely people can do 16 hours. Job quality differs salary. But the minimum is 11 bucks per hour.

Great university with appropriate facilities and great academic standards.
Tips: The university has great infrastructure and great job opportunities, such that rarely people join in consultancies to get jobs. The college has many fun activities every Wednesday and it provides free bus facility to all the students. Moreover, it has recently entered the list of top 100 colleges in the United States. The expenditure on accommodation and food is comparatively low. The great thing about the college is that it has low fee structure as it is public funded.
Likes (Public transportation): There are free buses provided by the college which operate from 7 am to 11 pm, which is quite appreciable. Free public facility is provided so one can travel anywhere and explore without the fear of money shortage. Usually in other universities one has to take cab for everything.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): Personally, I would say that the climate is quite harsh for permanent settlement. The summer is quite harsh so it is difficult to roam outside and this is the only reason why permanent settlement is difficult but immigration is quite easy.

Afforadable Tier-1 college
Tips: Part time wage pay is 10$/hr and also we need to get 75% above in every subject to qualify for the subject or else we need to rewrite the subject exam again.
Some of the departments don't offer any specialization so before you come enquire about it from respective graduate professors which are mentioned on the website.
Likes (Public transportation): Everyplace you go it is free with the university of south Florida Tampa student ID card. Up to 15 miles we have university buses and above 15 miles to 25 miles we have state buses which are also free for the students. So basically we don't spend a single penny on transportation.
Dislikes (Internships): Due to a large number of students both national and international students, we have a large competition for internships. Yet our college provides campus placements in which we need to register and participate and also students need to try applying from websites like handshake and linkdin.

Excellent transport services and good resources.
Tips: Before joining this college, you should make sure which college majors you would be joining and the research areas you are interested in. Along with that, connect with professors and students on LinkedIn and other professional means. The climate mostly remains warm, but there are erratic changes with rains and little cold chills, but it is manageable. It is true that cars are a necessity here, but you can manage with a bicycle as well. Usually, buses have cycle stands in front of them, where one can hook their cycle securely for long routes.
Likes (Public transportation): Bull runner provides excellent transport service from in and out campus free of cost. Also, state-owned buses are free for the university students to travel long distance routes. The university has its own portal for the bus tracking and their multiple stops on the routes, where students can board the bus. I highly recommend bus transport as you can meet other people and make some meaningful connections.
Dislikes (Quality of faculty): The faculty of EE for some research areas like wireless and VLSI are doing great and they have good resources like labs and funds to provide good resource material. For other research areas, the professors and resources are okay. Majorly, the USF is famous for the public health and business analytics program.
