MS in Environmental Studies - Batch of 2023

Absolutely great college with amazing infrastructure and diverse campus.
Tips: This college is well-reputed. The main thing is that, as you go for the feels option, they give us the option to pay fees monthly. This is convenient for those from middle-class families. I would not recommend making this your permanent home as you should always try new things. While the college is fine for staying in long-term, the campus is not that interesting. I'd also say this place is a good place to study and grow as a person. Campus security is good and it is really safe here. Everyone is friendly, so nothing to worry about. You can absolutely feel safe here. The teachers are caring, and all other staff are good, so overall security is great. Overall, I am satisfied with the college.

BA in English - Batch of 2025
4.1
Truly a memorable experience to reminisce.
Tips: The campus initially came off as rather laid-back and calm but as the semester progressed, the intensity and workload also increased. The popular courses here are primarily in STEM and the faculty is also well-reputed. You will have to undergo relatively grading in your classes which can often be make or break.

Had a positive experience at San Jose State University.
Tips: The curriculum is very challenging but the professors are equally competent and the experience will leave you well prepared and ready for the job market which my seniors have also declared. Once you start applying, make sure you leave adequate time for the visa process as well. I am fully content with my course, university and the country.

great experience being here
Tips: One of the first things that stood out to me was the strong sense of community and diversity present here. The International Students Association has been an integral part of helping me settle in, and I've made most of my friends from here as well. Campus life will allow you to explore multiple opportunities and outdoor activities, which you should take advantage of. Overall, I am fully satisfied with my experience.

The university is wonderful and had a great experience.
Tips: One of the first things I noticed when I arrived on campus was the wide variety of opportunities available for students to explore their interests. I am a finance major and some of the course material has really stuck with me because of the teaching and practical experience offered here. The professors are always willing to answer questions and offer help, and the study groups are a great way to reinforce what you've learned in class. The course material is challenging, but the professors are very good at explaining the material and providing real-world examples. Overall, I am very satisfied with my experience at San Jose State University.

MSDA at SJSU - The future of Data and Analytics.
Tips: This course is strictly for students who wish to study or follow their passion towards data and analytics. The curriculum is pretty challenging, but it's graduate level, and it's absolutely worth it. The amount of learning is quite huge. Absolutely satisfied and more than happy to be a part of MSDA at SJSU. One of the best decisions I had taken in my career .
Likes (Safety): Student life is fun, with lots of events and activities to explore. There are ethnic groups, resource groups and an Indian student organisation which conducts all the Indian ethnic festivals, it's a multi cultural society in college, so it's pretty fun to know what others are up to.
Dislikes (Quality of faculty): The faculty is top notch at SJSU for MSDA, and I absolutely enjoyed the classes for the specified curriculum, it helped me get an internship at AMD as well. For example, there are professors who pour their blood and sweat to teach the lessons in the most the easiest interpretable ways possible.

Best college in Bay Area!
Tips: Bay area is costly but with many opportunities and food. Since there are many temples hence it feels like my home country and very safe. There are many people of the same community hence it feels nice and safe. No need to worry here and can enjoy the college life.
Likes (Student Life): Students are helpful. It is a great place to start your studies and experience the exposure and other opportunities offered by this area and country. There are many restaurants hence students do not feel homesick also there are many temples in the city
Dislikes (Internships): Faculty are helpful. Since Bay Area has lots of companies there are many options and opportunities available for students. You can get immense exposure. Everyone around is helpful if you want to know about the options and opportunities. It is an amazing area.

Communication with authorities is key
Tips: Communication with your academic counsellor is very important but can also be hard due to the fact that they aren't always available. It is also very important to talk to professors and let them know if you are struggling or need help. The staff is helpful but you need to make the initiative.

The university is supportive and diverse.
Tips: The location of the university is ideal and in the heart of California so you are exposed to several opportunities and industries as well. The campus is also quite diverse with people from all over the world. There are challenges with getting your preferred course as classroom sizes are very specific and can sometimes be unaccommodating. Overall, I am satisfied with the experience.

UMass is a fun university
Tips: I think students should know how to communicate because it's the most important thing that I came across. I didn't know anything about scholarships but Shiksha helped me with that. On a scale 1 to 10, I'll rate 8 for the university, course and country I'll rate 6 because of their health care system.
Likes (Indian Food): There are several Indian restaurants in Boston. But I prefer cooking at home as it is healthy and pocket-friendly. There are lots of Indian grocery stores, where we mostly get all the Indian vegetables as most vegetarian students that I know have no issue finding the food/vegetarian food they like.
Dislikes (Quality of faculty): Few of the professors are not from United States, therefore it becomes difficult to understand their accents. Otherwise, their experience in the particular field is what a student gets the most help from. We have post discussion every week, an assignment exam every 2 weeks, then weekly presentations and group presentations. And a mid term and final exam.

It is just fine, not worth the amount of money I am paying. But just okay.
Tips: I have had a massive change in my personality. There is not a big cultural shift as all the masters' students are Indians, so you feel at home and don’t rely on getting international exposure a lot until you meet different people. I got a total of 4k off my tuition in terms of scholarship. Overall, the college and course is just fine.
Likes (Internships): Internships are not a lot, you can always make connections and talk to career services. You can also talk to alumni or your professors.
There is, but there is a lot of fight seeing how bad the market is right now and how competitive the market is. All you can do is keep applying.
Dislikes (Indian Food): I usually go with what is the cheapest. Usually Uber eats have a lot deals on a daily basis where you can get buy1 get 1 and I am a non vegetarian so I have a lot of options for myself. For vegetarians, you might have options, but it would be less.
Usually cooking by myself, but sometimes you can cheat
