Swinburne is fine but it is very hard to find an accommodation.
Tips: I received a scholarship for my degree because I scored 93 percent in an Indian high school but it takes time to get one. I am satisfied with the course and with being in Australia. However, making friends is difficult because Australian culture is very close and not open to everyone. Additionally, the availability of accommodation is a problem so make sure to find one as soon as you land.

Decent education but a challenging transition for IT students.
Tips: Transitioning to Australia can be challenging. The cultural environment is quite different, with a more independent and self-directed approach to learning. I got just a 2500 AUD scholarship in 2 years as it is in Professional Computing. I am not satisfied with the course as we have to write a lot of reports in a short period.

Master of Construction and Infrastructure Management - Batch of 2025
3.1
It is a warm, friendly and helpful environment.
Tips: There was nothing as a cultural difference. I did avail of scholarships. The allowance was 30% and got it through my previous academic performance. Pretty well satisfied with the country and university. The course is a bit more complicated than expected but with great guidance, it is easy to cope with.
Dislikes (Public transportation): The campus is properly connected to the rest of the city through public transport but the transport system is bad with full of disruptions. Other than that there are many modes of transportation such as trams, buses etc. accessible to the city and the university.

My experience was good. There are lots of opportunities available to grab.
Tips: Students should know that there are no such things as placements here or rather any other Western country college. Cultural and personal challenges exist. Australian Universities overall are decent, however, top Indian, American, and English education is much better. I won't come to an Australian university for an educational experience.
Likes (Post study jobs): As a Master's student, Swinburne provided me with internships and many job opportunities. Every week we would have our program director post jobs on our student portals. So opportunities were always given, it's just a matter of taking them. So keep a very good relationship with your mentors and anyone you meet in a professional capacity.
Dislikes (Part time work): There is a lot of availability for part-time work however, it is very subjective. Most will tell you and it is true that in Melbourne or anywhere in Australia, you get work through your network and relationships rather than your degree or resume. Part time work is manageable, especially at a master's or PhD level and if you can manage to budget and can tweak your lifestyle then part time work will make you enough money to pay for rent utilities and groceries.

Great learning, cultural diversity, and competitive opportunities.
Tips: Students should know that Victoria University of Wellington offers a supportive environment, but being proactive is the key to success. University life is very self-directed and students should be prepared to actively seek out services such as career advisors, and student associations if needed. Academics are solely independent, self-directed study is the norm. As a student in Wellington, finding a part-time job is essential as the cost of living is quite high.
Likes (Indian Food): Numerous Indian restaurants are mostly locally owned. There is a variety of people from all regions of the country. The pricing is average, offering meals from $20-$30 per person. I enjoy both eating out and cooking myself. The takeaway is limited to once every 1-2 weeks as the money could add up and as a student, it isn't easy to afford to eat out all the time.
Dislikes (Internships): While internships are available, securing one is highly competitive, especially in my field of study. There is some guidance available, such as through the university website and the annual career fair held at the university. However, getting an internship is a highly competitive process that puts extra pressure on students.

Great university and positive support from the faculty and peers.
Tips: I am almost finished with my studies at Victoria University of Wellington. I am very satisfied with the education I have received, and the support I have gotten from faculty and peers. There was a bit of a culture shock when I first arrived, but the people here are easygoing and very kind. The only downside is the horrible weather in Wellington.
Likes (Indian Food): There are plenty of different options to choose from when it comes to Indian cuisine, not just near the university which is in the city centre but also in the suburbs locations aswell. There are also many options to buy food online where they can bring it straight to your door.
Dislikes (Internships): There are a lot of job internship opportunities, but they are more scarce than they used to be. If you are not lucky, you would have to go and find a job yourself. At the moment, there is also a bit of a struggle finding jobs in this particular field. This might also be why internships are so scarce. However, the government has made a plan for companies to be more encouraged to take on more interns.
