The University of Liverpool is a space for exploring and enhancing your knowledge and skills.
Tips: Students should try to find more scholarships that your courses offer, you will get all the necessary information on the university website. I suggest that you try to connect with the alumni and ask them for suggestions. They can provide you with valuable information that can help you make an informed decision. Find nearby accommodation before joining the course in person for easy accessibility. Try to be a part of as many societies as possible and connect people from your department before joining for better advice. Use the international student ambassador facility to have a chat to clear your doubts with university representatives.

A mistake during covid time. Think twice before joining this university.
Tips: This course is not worth the money. You can look for other universities within the same fee range. The university does some scholarships, you don’t need to apply separately but make sure that SOP is perfect. I was fortunate to receive the ULMS Future Leaders Scholarship worth 24500.
Likes (Public transportation): The public transportation is very good. Frequent bus service from all parts of the city plus train service from nearby met cities. Quite affordable, bus tickets are 2 pounds for a single and a day pass is around 5 pounds, which is quite reasonable compared to other cities, but trains are expensive.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): There is uncertainty regarding visa rules and the government. The UK job market is not stable at all and it is better to look for other countries at this point. The job market is saturated and clearly, it's a joke. I would personally recommend Australia, the US and Germany.

University is fun but it can not guarantee about jobs.
Tips: The University of Liverpool is a different experience for me from the university I went to in India. This has much more to offer in terms of education, entertainment, sports, and everything except for jobs. Maybe I sound pessimistic, but it's really difficult to find a job here, I have not gotten a good full-time job, let alone not even a part-time job. So, if bagging a job is your main goal, you have to give a lot of effort.

The university environment is great and the faculty is understanding, approachable and helpful.
Tips: Before joining this college, students should know that it's essential to understand that the academic workload can be quite demanding, especially if you're pursuing a rigorous programme. The faculty is highly knowledgeable and approachable, but they expect a lot from students, so be prepared for a challenging yet rewarding academic experience. The campus is vibrant with a wide variety of clubs and activities, so there's always something happening. Additionally, the student support services are excellent, offering help with everything from academics to mental health, which can make a big difference, especially during the first year. Transitioning to this college was both exciting and challenging. Academically, I had to adjust to a faster-paced curriculum and different grading standards compared to what I was used to. The first few months were tough, but I soon found a rhythm that worked for me. Socially, it took some time to find my group of friends, but joining clubs and participating in campus events helped a lot. I also became more independent and confident, learning how to manage my time effectively and balance studies with extracurricular activities.

Great public transportation to explore the city and the country.
Tips: The University of Liverpool is a fun place to pursue a Master's degree. I graduated with my Bachelor's degree from an under-average college, so I decided to pursue a good university. This university is in the Russel group and one of the most prestigious in the world. I'm a big football fan, and LFC and Beatles are here so, I had my reasons to come here. Make sure you have the right reasons before selecting a university. Look out for internship or part-time opportunities as well. Public transportation is almost always available so make sure to use the best of it to explore the city.

Tips: I am satisfied with the University and the faculty, the kind of assignments we are assigned and everything but this place is very costly to live and the fees are high compared to other universities. Unless you have any part time jobs, you can't survive here. But if you got one, this is gonna be a place you will enjoy the best.

The city is dangerous but university is ok.
Tips: While the environment in the university is friendly and fun loving. I may not say the same about the city as I lost my bike in the first month I bought it also, one of my friend got robbed on the streets of Liverpool. So be careful while roaming on the roads at night. Apart from that, all the universities are actually the same, you need to work on your own and getting your work done.

Tips: The city itself is a happening place, there will be parties going on every day. There are many museums, hikes, pubs in and around Liverpool. Getting a part time maybe a bit difficult for the first few months but if you get one its gonna be sorted actually. University is really big with around 30,000 students with lots of activities and sports facilities, you will not have the time to feel bored if you go for all the activities.

A good choice if you can bare the fees.
Tips: Being one of the Russel group universities, this university of Liverpool is really a good choice if you're considering UK. The reason I choose this university in the first place was that it is academically oriented, its a party place, it has many sports clubs if you want to experience an overall university feel, this could be the one or else there are other universities with less fees.

Tips: University environment is really friendly and the staff guides you to help you in all the ways possible. I haven't faced any racism after coming here and in fact I became the president of badminton club. Coming to the studies, every student needs to do their own research and work at least 2 hours a day on their own to get good grades.

This is a really good University and we have many programmes to enhance our skills.
Tips: I was fortunate enough to receive a scholarship from the University of Liverpool, which greatly alleviated the burden of my studies. The scholarship process involved submitting my academic records, a personal statement and letters of recommendations. My course is intellectually stimulating and offers a perfect blend of theoretical knowledge and practical applications.
Likes (Public transportation): It's 32 for each trip, easily accessible buses. National Express runs to and from different cities anytime. The transport is easily available and the station is nearby. The trains are also available but the station close at 12 midnight hence traveling by bus is really easy.
Dislikes (Part time work): The part time options are limited. You usually have to go far in search of work also mostly you get work as a warehouse operative. You need to travel to different nearby cities and getting job in city centre is a bit difficult. You can join agencies and work at different places.

Gold standard teaching with all the resources you might need during your graduation.
Tips: Definitely a cultural shift. Learn cooking but adapt to local food as you won't get much time to cook. And if you get a part time job then just forget about cooking you will be eating outside almost every day. Life is pretty fast here as compared to India.
Likes (Quality of faculty): Better feedback loops and overall quality of teaching. Most of the modules are up to Date and are revised every year. Faculty members are well trained and all of them have PhDs. They will only teach you what needed. Also the way they teach here is quite different from India in a better way.
Dislikes (Indian Food): There is only 1 or 2 shops where you can find Indian food and spices. Although the western options at other places are good. Try to change your eating habits. Try to bring as much as you can as it took me about 2 months to get around with the food here. Definitely bring atleast 6 months stock of spices if you tend to cook.

It's a good choice if you wanna do data science
Tips: The University of Liverpool is better than other universities in UK for my course for people who are newly getting into Data Science. I got a 5000-pound scholarship when I applied for this university. Before coming here, I had no idea what data Science was but this course starts from the basics so I understood everything from scratch. The student leaders and staff are so supportive, they won't make you feel like you're an outsider. Overall, it was a good experience for me.

Life here is smooth yet a bit challenging at times.
Tips: Liverpool gives you a different type of experience with the people and academics. So don't have to worry about anything. The lives of international students are actually good. It's not too hard or too easy. Before coming here just make sure you can survive here without your family.
Likes (Quality of faculty): The staff are the best in this university. They give their best in academics and other things. They are very helpful and the way they teach us is very interesting. It gives us motivation to study and gain knowledge in the subjects. Some staff are strict which you need sometimes.
Dislikes (Safety): I've seen some roadside fights and people using guns. So it's not that safe here. At night there are my kids or people my age creating problems in the roadside making it difficult for the other people in the area. Thieves are there so we have to always keep an eye on our cycle or car or anything.

They take all student suggestions seriously. Good place to be.
Tips: The best thing I like about this college is that they take student suggestions into consideration even when you are an International student with any culturally oriented suggestion. I have seen this happening be it with faculty or with the administration. There are many Indian and South Asian students here and student bodies are doing extremely well. If you are coming here make sure to be a bit outgoing and extroverted it will help in making friends and meeting new people. I am satisfied with my course too it is pretty advanced yet precise and industry-oriented. The faculty also goes beyond academics which is what I like and expect.
Likes (Part time work): Part-time work is readily available here. No problem with that. I work in Anfield which is the stadium of Liverpool FC and I couldn't be more thankful to find this opportunity at this great place. You'll find part-time work here but on campus is not easy outside there is work available.
Dislikes (Internships): Internships are particularly tough to find and there is not much guidance given on after-study support and assistance. In my course, there are not many internship opportunities and it makes it very difficult when the university doesn't help much we have to look for internships on our own and let's say if we find good ones then we are lucky. Try making connections with your seniors from the same course in freshman year only that will help a bit.

University of York is one of the best university for research.
Tips: Students should learn the basics, make use of the resources, and be extremely satisfied with the professors and course material. The transition was easy, and there was a diverse student body that provided many opportunities to interact and learn. However, I did not apply for a scholarship. Overall, I am quite content with my experiences here.
Likes (Post study jobs): There are more than 100+ companies in the UK that are relevant to the audio industry. On average, people can get paid anywhere from 25,000 to 50,000 per year. There is a variety of work available in the audio industry for potential candidates.
Dislikes (Internships): The University of York provides a lot of guidance to students on how to get internships. They have a career and placement cell that is extremely helpful when it comes to providing guidance on companies and other requirements.

Great campus life, amazing academics but dull UK job market.
Tips: Academics are rigorous but not stressful. It focuses on more independent study. Time management and self-discipline are crucial. York is a historically picturesque city but small compared to other cities like Birmingham and Manchester. It's great for students who enjoy a laidback atmosphere, as it gives easy access to nature and historically sits. The cost of living is on the higher side. You can find international stores to get desi stuff. UK academic culture stresses critical thinking and independent research, so that's one thing that was a bit different from India. For many the UK weather could be a challenge and sunlight hours also affect people. I did not avail of scholarships, but my friends did. You just have to write an essay or answer a few questions, and if you have done well, you can get a fee exception. I am very satisfied with my university and course. But the job market in the country is a bit of an issue.
Likes (Student Life): I would say exceptional student life. Lively campus and picturesque views. I mean, the campus is really beautiful. A short walk can cheer one up on your worst day. The university accommodation is fantastic. UoY provides an inclusive atmosphere. My day started with lectures and seminars followed by self-study in UoY's world-class library facility. Then I would go for free sports, where I made a lot of friends from different countries and backgrounds. The freshman week is the best time. You make really good connections and enjoy free food. The library is open till late hours and 24x7 during examinations. Various kinds of events are organized, and you can experience the Roses tournament as well. The variety of student-run societies like academic societies, sports clubs, and cultural and international societies allows each student to get involved. There are student discounts on food and gym subscriptions as well.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): The job market exposure is limited. The university is known for excellent research, though, but it does not help that much to secure a job. But it can surely help the students who want to go into the research and development or academic path. The city is smaller than Manchester or Birmingham and has a reputation for tourism rather than industrial presence, which makes it difficult to get opportunities. But, in general, the whole UK job market is not in favour of immigrants. So, it's not just the university. Very few companies offer jobs to international students and even fewer offer sponsorship. Graduate roles are very hard to secure. It makes sense and a bit easier if one has work experience. Job roles offered: data analyst, software developer, consultant, process specialist. Salary packages range from GBP 25k to 35k.

A historical institution to build a better future for all people from all walks of life.
Tips: The transition to a new country is never simple but there is a lot of support for anyone that's looking for it. Before moving to York, it would be good to get in contact with coursemates and students you will be living with. In addition, spend time looking into societies you want to get involved in as early on in the year there will be plenty of taste sessions to go and participate in which will aid in socializing in a new environment. The university also has a buddy programme that would put you in touch with someone at the university who may have gone through the experience previously and guide you through an easy transition experience. Looking for part-time jobs is fairly easy as well, the university has its own platform, Handshake to look for opportunities. Indeed is a great widely used option as well.
Likes (Safety): Campus security maintains a very active presence on campus with routine patrols to ensure safety and is very helpful in medical emergencies as well. Other than campus security, York is generally a very safe city. It consistently ranks in the top 5 of the safest areas within the UK for student areas which means stepping out late at night can be stress-free for everyone.
Dislikes (Public transportation): York has a well established bus network that allows you to travel around the city comfortably with options to track bus timings. We also have an app as well. The train station in the city centre has great connectivity with direct trains to London taking about 2 hours.

University of York is all thing from study to support
Tips: The University of York is a research based Russell group university. University is located in York, a welcoming and peaceful city, with historical architecture. Apart from the city, campus itself is beautiful and has a lot of study space for individual as well as group study. Also, the university offers student assistance right from the application process to the move to York. Staff is accommodating and helps students to their best knowledge. University provides guidance to improve skills for academics and professional prospects as well as in managing living expenses. I received Chevening Scholarship funded by UK FCDO, in which 20% of the scholarship is funded by the university.
Likes (Quality of faculty): Faculty at the University of York can be contacted via email or in-person. They are friendly and understand the demands of the diverse student community. Instead of traditional methods of providing classroom lectures, university employs a novel approach, they are a mix of lectures, seminars, practical, and also drop-in sessions for questions.
Dislikes (Public transportation): The University of York provides a free campus shuttle bus to students and faculty. Campus shuttle connects all of the major bus stop from West to east campus. Aside from the free campus shuttle, various paid public transmit options are available. The campus is well-connected to the main city, York City Centre is in 10 minutes walking distance from campus West.

My Experience with University of York
Tips: One of the most important changes that I have experienced is the change in the weather. The winters in York can get really cold so please be prepared to buy good quality winter wear that will last. The University has done a lot to make the transition smoother. There are a number of fresher week activities including college lunches and coffee meets where students can meet other international students as well as home students. There is also a lot of mental health support available at the university which are easily available to all. There is a visa office that helps with any queries regarding your visa or stay. The curriculum is different from what it is in India and there is a dedicated academic skills hub for helping students ease into the university curriculum. York itself is a beautiful city, especially for history buffs like myself. The university campus is serene and green and there is plenty of study space. Overall I am satisfied with the University campus and its curriculum.
Likes (Part time work): There are a number of on campus part time work available like International ambassadors, academic representatives etc. In addition, there are a number of shops and cafes like Nisa and Greggs within the campus which can offer possible employability. York is a relatively small and historic city with enough part-time jobs available. Update the resume and use indeed and LinkedIn to do the applications. The minimum wage is 10 pounds and since there is a 20-hour work limit per week, it is possible to effectively manage academics and work.
Dislikes (Indian Food): There are a number of Indian restaurants in the City Centre but they are a bit expensive. The groceries however are pretty affordable. It's highly recommended to cook for yourself during the initial months until you're settled in. Indian groceries are available in shops like Morrisons and Makkah which are about 30 minutes away from the University.

Tips: The cultural shift is very evident and yet it is not overwhelming or unmanageable. Staying true to yourself and being open-minded and accepting takes you a long way. It has far exceeded my expectations in every manner.
Likes (Value for money): The study curriculum is designed very thoughtfully and imparted very practically. The professors are very friendly and easily approachable. You can not only discuss with them the academic difficulties that you might be facing but also any personal challenges that you will encounter. They are always more than happy to be of assistance.
Dislikes (Internships): Finding an internship is your own task and it is very difficult to manage an internship and your studies. One of the safest and best university in UK
Tips: Look and research thoroughly about your course and also about the city. If you are more interested in party rich and more lively city life then this is not the city as there is not much of a young population. Also one should look into the availability of cheap options for rent.
Likes (Safety): York as a city is one of the safest city in UK. Also this particular university has very low or no racism and has a good amount of cultural diversity between students. Also as there is not much young crowd in York so there is not much crime happening in the city.
Dislikes (Internships): Less internship options are available for my field of study. Also as York is not a big city so there are obviously fewer options available but the university should focus more on providing internship opportunities and should organise more workshops and awareness events.

Life is good here, you would be having a lot of fun parties, night outs and get together etc. Assignments are the main area of focus as it would be new to some and adapting would be difficult so a proper understanding of what you are doing will help. Always there will be support from the teachers so there is no issue just don't hesitate.

Good and friendly college.
Tips: About the course, part time jobs, accommodation, full time jobs. The student must know what modules they have to study, will university allow us to change the course or modules we have selected, and the availability of jobs for that course and the requirements to cope up with that course.

Very good experience. Every student should have this.
Tips: Stay to have a strong academic goal and also work. It is very hard to achieving the future goal. It will be very helpful before you choose the university. Good place to study and have a funny life. Try to fix a goal.
Likes (Internships): Fun parties in each weekend. And also we can lot of may gathering meet-ups with lot of international students and earned lot of many international students and experienced multi cultural culture in my university life. One of the good page of my dairy.
Dislikes (Quality of faculty): One of the unforgettable moments and memories in my whole life. I can't imagine that I have studied in such a very good reputed university. This is extremely a good life time in my whole life. Very beautiful natural green surrounded place in the Yorkshire.

Overall it is a new experience for me and I am enjoying it.
Tips: Students must know completely about their course and what they need to study, they must be mentally prepared for the efforts they need to put and stress they need to face, along with part time job and doing all your house work like cooking, cleaning, washing, etc. Along with the studies is all they need to do.

My 3 years in York studying Psychology at the University of York were the best!
Tips: I got an EU bursary (that was before the UK exited the EU) to help with my accommodation costs. The transition to a new university in a new country was very easy personally, I made friends and the academic environment was really welcoming to everyone. I was really satisfied overall.
Likes (Indian Food): There were many restaurants from all around the world, namely American, British, French Indian, Chinese, Japanese, Turkish, Italian, Spanish, Middle Eastern, Greek and more in such a small city. Pricing varied from affordable everyday food to very expensive quality restaurants, so there is something for everyone! I personally prefer cooking myself, but whenever I ate out I was never disappointed.
Dislikes (Public transportation): The campus is on the outskirts of the city centre, meaning a 45' walk or 30' bus ride or 10' taxi ride. During my time in university, the buses on which all students relied for their daily transport across campuses and the city centre were beyond disappointing. They were constantly full, late, some times did not stop to pick up passengers even if there were available seats on the bus. We raised concerns about all of it but not much changed during my time there. I hope things have improved as I had to spend a lot of money on Ubers, since there is no other way of travelling around quickly and efficiently.

Excellent University for studies and fun.
Tips: Students should know the subject modules of their courses. Because some of the courses have the least number of subject modules which will have an impact on in depth understanding of the main course. It's better to take on-campus accommodation to minimize the transportation cost as travelling inside the campus is free.
Likes (Student Life): Student life in York would be friendly. There will not be any discrimination. There are many sports activities, dance programs, societies, party events and so on. All facilities are available on campus. Students can enjoy and do their studies peacefully.
Dislikes (Value for money): This course offers a limited number of modules as compared to the other courses in the university. Though the extracurricular activities are many, the course modules are not enough for high tuition fees and it got increased for Sept 2023 intake.

Best place to pursue your research work.
Tips: If you are fortunate enough to have a government sponsorship, then York is a great place to study. However, scholarships are hard to come by if you don't have that kind of support. Also, although York itself has few job opportunities, three major cities are nearby, so you might be able to find something. The cost of living in York is relatively high, but housing and transportation are affordable.

University of York: A beautiful experience
Tips: I received the Be Exceptional Scholarship of u00a37500. I would suggest to apply for the scholarships well in advance. Overall, I am very satisfied with the University, course and the country. I would also suggest to be a part of the clubs and societies as they always have something going on.
Likes (Student Life): A plethora of events are organised by the University including bar crawls, social, game nights, karaoke, etc. I absolutely enjoy socialising with people, hence never missed an opportunity to take part in the social events. Additional, the campus is really beautiful.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): I believe the faculty at the University of York is top notch. They are extremely friendly, approachable and supportive and have always helped me throughout the course. Being a part of the Biology department, I spent most of the time in the labs. The labs are exceptional with all the facilities.
