Healthy environment to live and great education.
Tips: I got a $2500 scholarship based on my GRE, IELTS, and B.Tech GPA. I also like that we're allowed to take other field courses. I've met people from different cultures and backgrounds, and it's easy to make friends here because everyone is new. My apartment is also close to Indian stores, which is convenient. The faculty are really supportive and will help you whenever you are stuck with. Overall, I'm very happy and satisfied with my university.

The university helped me significantly in developing my personality for professional aspects.
Tips: What I have observed so far is that being involved in extracurriculars and research will be very helpful if you are studying at this university. Make sure you meet people outside of your immediate friend groups as these will lead to a true sense of network and exposure. Try out as many opportunities provided as it can help you to grow in a personal and professional manner and enjoy the student life there.

Experienced learning like never before.
Tips: Students should know that you will get to experience a very accepting and student-friendly environment. The course curriculum is quite dynamic so you'll also be expected to unlearn a lot of things that you may have previously been accustomed to. Try to make the most out of your time here. Overall, I am satisfied with my course, college and the country.

Very grateful for the experience and an amazing student life.
Tips: One of the first things to sort out before reaching the campus is your housing, whether on campus or off campus, based on your preference and convenience to classes or else it can become quite chaotic. Make sure you follow the requirements of your major such as credit requirements as well as attendance as it can vary a lot. Besides, the faculty is great and be quite helpful to you regrading your professional life.

The perfect college town if you are a student
Tips: If a person is living in a tier 1 city in India, then the USA is not much different except the people. So it is not that difficult to get used to it. There is an academic excellence scholarship option at the end of the year worth $1000. I am more or less satisfied with the university.
Likes (Public transportation): There are ample buses to every part of the city and it is free for the students. You just have to show your university ID card and that's it. The bus frequency is also not a problem as the buses start from 6 am in the morning through 12 am in the night.
Dislikes (Value for money): Job opportunities, not so much, else everything is very good. It is tough to find internships and jobs because of the visa sponsorship issue. But for overall value for money, it is worth it, as it is one of the cheapest business degrees in the USA. Overall it is a good course.

University of Florida: Affordable in terms of course fee.
Tips: University of Florida is ranked as the best public university in the United States. It is also very good for the Computer Science stream. The professors are well-versed and teach really well. The curriculum is well designed with a good number of assignments, projects and exams to get a deeper understanding of the subjects. Another plus point about the University of Florida is its affordable fees (around $35000 for the whole course). The only thing I observed as not good is the lack of diversity in the MS in Computer Science programme. About 95% of the MSCS students are Indians.
Likes (Indian Food): We have a decent number of small to medium-scale restaurants which offer Indian cuisine. There are also restaurants offering other cuisines like Asian, Chinese, Thai and also a good number of American restaurants and fast food chains. I usually cook at home, but go to restaurants once in a while.
Dislikes (Internships): For a really long time, the University of Florida has been one of the top colleges in terms of internships and full-time job placements. But, since the COVID-19 pandemic, the US economy has been in a recession which has led to a significant drop in placement opportunities.

University of Florida - Really worth experience.
Tips: Gainesville is a student friendly city, offering pleasant tropical weather throughout most of the year and at least one hurricane annually. The College of Engineering offers a $4500 scholarship over three semesters. I am really happy with the university's atmosphere, and my course is enriched by excellent professors closely connected to industry and electronic trends. University of Florida stands out as one of the few universities with its own nanoscale research lab, where you can design and fabricate integrated circuits.
Likes (Safety): There are panic alarms all over the campus; when activated, the police respond within minutes. Gainesville predominantly functions as a college town, encompassing a significant portion of the city, and since the majority are students, safety concerns are minimal. Personally, I haven't encountered any negative experiences. If you decide to come here, there are some famous places in Gainesville that you should explore.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): You have to start applying for jobs at least 8-10 months before your graduation. For ECE, major companies such as Apple, AMD, Nvidia, TI, Micron, Qualcomm, Cisco, and others typically sponsor H1B visas. The roles vary widely based on your concentration - Analog, Digital, Firmware and salary ranges are not fixed, contingent on your work experience. However, for a newcomer, the salary would typically start around USD 90,000 to USD 95,000.

Amazing University with abundance of resources. Overall, perfect place for you to study
Tips: My transitioning was smooth and haven't felt that much cultural shift because I am living in Indian society. We all get multiple scholarship opportunities and I am overjoyed and satisfied with my University, course and especially USA. The University of Florida has amazing faculty, the best environment and favourable places to study and work towards invention and innovation.
Likes (Indian Food): Every country's food is available on campus. Food is available everywhere at every corner of the university across the whole city. The University of Florida is an amazing place. There are multiple canteens and outlets of various cuisines available to us in diverse forms.
Dislikes (Part time work): Part time jobs are not available. Applying on website and everywhere else, me and my friends couldn't find part-time jobs. We tried in the last semester and till now we couldn't find it. So I won't recommend you here for part-time jobs, you may find part-time jobs outside campus but not on the campus.

It is a dynamic experience.
Tips: Students should know that they will need to take initiative in order to reap maximum benefit from events organized by the student government and the opportunities provided by the universities. People do not care about minuscule stuff and are either overly welcoming or won't care about you.
Our college unites artists and engineers, physicians and philosophers, entrepreneurs and educators. We distil practical solutions from pure science and apply the lessons of history to contemporary problems.
College embraces a diversity of experiences and ideas as the core of our strength.

Enjoying life with a little study on the side
Tips: Not much preparation is needed before moving here. Just don't be shy to talk to anyone, everyone is friendly. Also, Gainesville is a small place and you are not pressured at the university at all for academics so try to travel after all you are in the USA.
Dislikes (Indian Food): I am an Indian citizen so for me food was a big issue. You can eat out every day if you wish but there comes a time when you crave homemade food. Moreover, cooking is a must to know before you come here as there is only so much you can spend on food.

University of Florida is for hard workers.
Tips: You might get homesick or enjoy the place. It is you who have to decide. In addition, Gainesville does not have anything to do. It's just college and your room and your friends. If you are someone who thinks about hardwork and very little enjoyment. Then this place is for you.
Likes (Part time work): Almost everyone in the University gets part-time and hourly pay rate is average. If you are working in dine-in facilities such as chic-fil-A or firehouse subs then you will get $12.5/hour. If you are working somewhere else, your pay rate is commensurate with the budget and your calibre.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): Permanent immigration/settled options depend on the luck according to me. University plays no role in your permanent immigration. It is you who have to crack a job in a good organisation and prove yourself to the organisation to file a petition for your H1B.

Tips: Students should be aware of the cultural shift they are gonna be experiencing once they reach here. Especially students from India. Moreover, if we talk about scholarships, I received a 4500$ scholarship spread across three semesters. Overall I’m quite satisfied with the university and my course as it provides me with the wonderful opportunity of fulfilling my dreams. Overall, I would suggest the students to be prepared of the changes they will be experiencing.

A great place to start our international career
Tips: I got a lot of help from seniors so my transmission was kind of smooth. Its a new country so I expected some shifts after moving here so it wasn't a shock. I was not eligible for any scholarship so I didn't get one. Overall, very good university, just be careful outside the campus, try to stay mostly inside the campus. Make sure to stay in the campus for a long time during the day, its a safe space.

Value for money degree at UF
Tips: This is the best college for value for money degrees. Comparing the tuition fee with other prominent universities, it is much lower and affordable. Prices of food and living are also less. With a good amount of funding, I would 100% recommend UF to anyone who wants to experience good college life.
Likes (Student Life): UF is a great school for life. The campus does so much for students on a regular basis. There are numerous entrepreneurship clubs and labs. You can learn professional and social skills through these clubs. I joined NLP Club through which I got access to my on campus job at NLP Lab.
Dislikes (Internships): Since Florida is a state with not too much IT infrastructure, hence there are less companies working here. Also since 2023 is going through recession, hence less opportunities for internships. Would recommend going to California if internship is the top priority.

Incredible experience of DePaul University.
Tips: This college is an amazing place. If you come regularly, you'll feel at home here. There are always events going on related to study and fun. There are so many courses to choose from, and you can apply for scholarships. But the best thing about this college is the people. There are so many people who are always ready to help every person who needs it.
Likes (Post study jobs): The college organises a career fair twice a quarter to help every student. They also help us to build resumes. I do not know much about companies but DePaul makes sure that DePaul students will get a higher level of post after study and get paid well.
Dislikes (Part time work): There are very few jobs available to international students, and they are highly competitive. There are only about 200 jobs available on campus, and there are about 3,000 applications for those jobs. International students are not allowed to work off campus, so it is imperative that they find a job on campus if they want to stay in the country.

Select the course wisely.
Tips: Before joining this college, students should be aware of the course which they are choosing and how the location of the college is going benefit their course. The university is better than the other in this location and they provide various resources for the students so the student has to utilize these resources. The university keeps many events for networking so we have to put ourselves out there in order to grab the opportunity.

The amazing experience of DePaul and Chicago.
Tips: When you arrive at the airport, there will be a DePaul volunteer who will help you reach home and greet you with some goodies. I got a dean's scholarship worth 7500 Dollars. Mostly every student who is admitted to this college will get this scholarship. I am very satisfied with the university even though my courses and the country are so amazing and full of surprises.
Likes (Student Life): Student life is so great here. Our college has everyday events and activities which help us to make new friends and learn something new. I participated in a lot of activities. They offered free movies on Sunday in the AMC theatre, and apart from all these we are free to come to Chicago the best city to explore.
Dislikes (Indian Food): I am a vegetarian, which makes it difficult for me to find restaurants that offer only vegetarian food. I have found a few Indian restaurants that have vegetarian options, but most of them also have non-vegetarian options. This means that if I want to eat at one of these restaurants, I have to ask them to prepare a vegetarian dish that is not on the menu. This can be inconvenient, and it also means that I am not always sure what I am getting.

DePaul university has good visa acceptance rate
Tips: If you want to study in an urban setup then it's good. Other than that ROI is not that great. Public transportation of the city is brilliant and economical for students. However, the tuition cost is a bit higher than usual.
Likes (Public transportation): The CTA has done a great job of transportation CTA spells as Chicago public transport. 8 metro lines are there, and nearly 150 different routes of bus transportation. And we need to pay 105 to the university and they will give us a U pass which we can use in public transport.
Dislikes (Value for money): The tuition fees are high because we are studying in an urban setup and obviously we need to pay more to study here. Based on my experience I thought that studying in an urban setup would give more opportunities but it is not always the case. Lastly, your skills only matter.

Bittersweet experience, needs more industry exposure
Tips: There was a huge cultural shift but it was easy to blend in. I did get a scholarship when I got admitted to the university based on my profile as an undergrad. I'm quite satisfied with the quality of my education and the guidance from my advisors.
Likes (Quality of faculty): The faculty members that teach are industry working professionals and they give the students exposure to real-world problems. They are quite helpful as well in terms of doubt-solving and even take one-on-one sessions when discussing assignments. Highly appreciate it.
Dislikes (Part time work): It's very difficult to acquire one. As the application process is quite time-consuming and most of the jobs don't even inform you about the status of the application. It was a good experience overall. I am happy to attend and recommend it as a good option.

Good reputation in the city. Not sure if it applies the same outside the city.
Tips: This college is same as any other college. Before coming here make sure you have some work experience. Your life will change after moving here so be ready for that. Something particularly for Chicago, be very careful as the security threats are higher. Last but not least, learn cooking.

Overall- Best University in Illinois
Tips: The courses at De Paul are considered among one of the best in Illinois and are at great ranks among all the universities in the US. The graduates from here are sought by most of the top recruiters. The fee structure is a little on the expensive side but the quality of the education they provide makes it all worth it. Professors are extremely cooperative and helpful, not just in academics but also in guiding job placements and internships. There are two campuses of Depaul University: Lincoln Park and Loop Neighbourhoods of Chicago. Lincoln Park campus is away from all the chaos of the city with a serene environment. The choice of campus depends on the choice of the course one chooses to pursue.
Likes (Internships): In my final year (2022), I got an opportunity for internships at not one or two but three prestigious American firms offering learning in the field of Business Management. The stipend offered by these recruiters was way above my expectations and was as high as $5,000 a month.
Dislikes (Value for money): The fee structure is a little on the expensive side, but the quality of education they provide makes it worth it. The program I am pursuing is one of the most expensive programs and is not affordable without a loan, by most of us. Yet, the experience is amazing.

Costly, tough and worthy. Lincoln campus is at different location and it is for bachelors.
Tips: DePaul University is an expensive school with good course options, but no part-time jobs. The coursework is very tough and challenging. Overall, I am satisfied with the school, but in the present economic situation, it is better to think twice before paying so much for college.
Likes (Indian Food): The city is big and offers many options for dining. There is a place called Devon where you can find everything from Indian food to groceries. Patel Brothers offers a wide variety of food items. You will love the city, but be prepared for high expenses.
Dislikes (Part time work): There are a lot of part-time jobs available on the Lincoln campus, but the competition is fierce. If you live close to the Lincoln campus, you'll have a better chance of finding a job. However, you'll have to commute to the Loop campus for classes.
