In case the applicant is unable to register for his or her preferred ACT exam centre, the next best option is to choose another test date. Exam centre availability completely depends upon the applicant's time of ACT exam registration and whether or not seats at the designated ACT exam centre are available or not. It is advised that students check their test dates and corresponding registration deadlines for the chosen ACT exam centre beforehand to avoid missing out at the last minute. 

If the applicant mistakenly reaches the wrong ACT exam centre right before the exam begins, he/she should try and reach the correct exam centre as soon as possible. It is not allowed to make changes either to the test center or test date on the test day. On test day you are allowed to make only one change that is the test option that you like to attempt, ACT or ACT Writing. Candidates can make changes to registration through their MyACT account. Candidates are allowed to make the following changes:

• Add or remove the writing test
• Changes to test date or test location
• Any updation to personal information

If these changes are made after the registration deadlines, then the applicant may have to bear an extra fee also. Thus, applicants must ensure that they fill their applications with the right set of information in one go as far as possible.

ACT exam centres are located across 15 cities of India and each city has atleast two test centres available for the exam. Applicants have the option to choose any one ACT exam centre in any one of the Indian cities only. The ACT exam dates may vary hence, availabilty of seats at the chosen exam centre may also vary, hence, applicants should be prompt when and where they wish to appear for the ACT exam.

The following items are not allowed at the ACT exam centre:

• Any snacks, drinks, or reading materials in the test room are not permitted while sitting for the ACT exam.
• Chits or any cheating material.
• Gadgets besides calculators. 
• Any sharp material and metal materials.
• Also books are also equally prohibited to carry at ACT exam centre.

Applicants not abiding by the rules may be penalised and may also be barred from appearing for the ACT exam at the designated exam centre.

The following things that an applicant is permitted to take at the ACT test centre are as follows:

• A valid photo ID
• A calculator (read the ACT Calculator policy for selecting the right calculator)
• As it is a lengthy test it is advised to carry some water and snacks with you (you can consume them only during the break)

• Pen or pencil
• Any electronic gadget
• Food or beverages including water

Yes candidates are allowed to bring a calculator as per the ACT calculator policy. The calculator must of the proposed configuration as given by the American Testing Agency, else students will not be allowed to carry the calculators along with them. Please note, the ACT exam centre will not provide the applicants with a calculator or allow them to borrow it from fellow test takers, hence, the applicants must carry the calculators of their own.
