German Universities Accepting Backlogs: The acceptance of backlogs varies from region to region. While you are applying to Germany, the most important thing to remember is that the universities in Germany do not count the number of subjects, but the number of attempts as backlogs. In other words, the German Universities count the number of attempts you have made to clear one exam/subject.
For instance, suppose you had only one subject to clear in a re-attempt, let’s say Computer Networks. If it took you two re-attempts to clear that single subject, then the number of your backlogs as counted by the German AdCom would be two backlogs (not one). However, if you cleared that backlog within the first attempt, it would be counted as one backlog.
To make it more clear, Number of Attempts = Number of Backlogs in Germany.
Good German universities such as Cologne Business School and Frankfurt School of Finance & Management (FS) do not have any scope for backlogs. They entertain Zero backlogs.

A. On an average, most of the German universities accept up to 3 backlogs in your undergraduate degree for admissions to MS courses. Some universities may even accept up to 5 backlogs if you have impressive aptitute test scores, unique and experiential work experience of at least 2-3 years, overall average of at least 65% or above.

A. Yes, some German universities do accept students with backlogs in their undergraduate degree. However, there are several other factors that they take under consideration, such as the overall academic percentage, work experience, GMAT/GRE scores, language proficiency scores, and more. A. No, backlogs do not affect German visa directly. You are eligible to apply for a German student visa once you have received your admission offer from a university in Germany. Hence, if the university has accepted your backlogs, you will have no problem acquiring a German visa.

A. The universities in Germany accept if you have taken a gap of 1-2 years after completing your high school education, when applying for bachelor's courses.
