- Applicants must have the successful completion of a university degree in automotive engineering or another relevant course with the minimum degree "Bachelor of Engineering" and an overall grade of at least "good" (2.5).
- A course of study is relevant if it imparts knowledge from the fields of natural sciences, mathematics and engineering to the extent of at least 110 ECTS points and contains vehicle technology knowledge from modules totaling at least 30 ECTS points.
- Applicants with a degree with less than 210 credit points according to ECTS can be admitted subject to conditions. The missing credit points must be acquired by successfully completing vehicle technology or engineering modules from the bachelor's degree in vehicle technology at the Technical University of Cologne.

- that you still need 30 credit points to obtain your degree (i.e. at least 150 of 180 credit points for 6-semester courses, 180 of 210 credit points for 7-semester courses).
