Tips: I found the transition to a new language and culture quite overwhelming at first, but it got better over time. I didn't experience any major cultural shocks, except for the fact that you have to plan ahead every time you want to meet with someone. Overall, I am very satisfied with my university and the course I am taking. However, every country has its own problems, and I think it would be better if German officials were more understanding of those who speak English as a second language.
Likes (Student Life): Normally there are lectures and practice sessions that are conducted in groups of three or five. We go to the canteen together for lunch. I enjoy the most the freedom to choose courses across the field and how welcoming the community is to the international students. There are a lot of events organised especially for the freshers like city bike tours, hiking, weekend trips etc. I try to participate as much as possible.
