ETS recently announced changes in GRE fees. Effective January 4, 2016, the GRE exam fee jumped from $195 to $205. For Indian students, this translates to the exam costing from Rs. 13,200 to Rs. 13,900 (approx). The difference is only $10, which translates to Rs. 670-700 depending on the currency exchange rate.

Payment for the computer-based exam can be made through any American Express, MasterCard or VISA Credit/Debit Card. You can also choose to make payment through money order/bank check if registering through mail.

GRE Subject Test continue to cost $150 worldwide, which would translate to Rs. 10,000 to 11,000 approximately.

Indian students appearing for the GRE exam will need to pay approximately INR 22,550 for the GRE General Test and INR 14,500 for a GRE Subject Test. The Educational Testing Service (ETS) reserves the right to change the fee structure.
