This programme promotes the development of well-rounded and innovative musicians who are able to progress into numerous careers in the creative industries - Interested in a music degree with a difference? Are you dedicated to developing your music skills and knowledge to a high standard as part of a committed team? This four-year honours degree programme will allow students to learn and develop a variety of musical skills across three core musical genres: Popular, Classical and Irish Traditional Music.
- These skills include group and solo performance, musicianship, music journalism, songwriting and composition. In addition to studies in the history of the three core genres, students will learn about music technology, electroacoustic music, and approaches in music education.
- During the four-years students will undertake practical, theoretical and historical studies in three central genres: Popular, Classical and Traditional Irish music. Performance and Musicianship modules take place across all four-years, and are designed to bring a student from beginner to advanced practitioner over the course of the degree.

This college is about 90 acres and every department has access to many facilities.
Tips: Accommodation, part-time availability and travelling. Unlike universities and colleges in Dublin, DKIT never leaves students alone. They support students in finding accommodation which is the biggest problem in Ireland currently. It also has some college accommodations like a green hall and private bonding with Mourne view hall. The time when you paid initial deposit, do not ignore the suggestions from DKITs international help desk messages. They will suggest students regarding initial payments or quarterly payments for accommodation and utility bills. Do not fear in paying those deposits. Once you reach Dundalk, and if you do not find accommodation, it is a big problem and students can lose even more money by paying hostel fees. Eventually, college opens an AIB student account and allocated required letters for PPSN and GNIB. Then you can find part-time jobs in college or nearby.
Likes (Public transportation): From Dublin to Dundalk, public transport facility is more frequently available than public transport to any other counties from Dublin. For, example from the city centre to DKIT Matthews coach is available every 1 hour throughout the day starting from morning 7:30 to evening 9:30 at an affordable price.
Dislikes (Internships): Regarding internships, DKIT will not provide any internships after this course. Everything depends on the type of course the student has chosen. Some courses will provide and some won't. If they provided internship means it is worth paying more academic fees. For my course, there is no internship, and one will get enough lab exposure which is required for post-study jobs
