- This four-year honours degree in Building Surveying trains students for entry into building surveying practice, and for providing a professional building surveying service. While Building Surveyors are qualified to design and oversee the construction of new buildings, they specialise in the sustainable management, maintenance and upgrade of existing buildings, work that is necessary irrespective of economic conditions.

- This course is unique in the Republic of Ireland in that it is the only such course that is specifically recognised in the Building Control Act 2007. It is also currently the ONLY Building Surveying course recognised by the Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland (SCSI) as meeting the education standard leading to recognition as Chartered Building Surveyor in this jurisdiction.
- Graduates holding this qualification will also be recognised worldwide through the SCSI affiliation with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).

This college is about 90 acres and every department has access to many facilities.
Tips: Accommodation, part-time availability and travelling. Unlike universities and colleges in Dublin, DKIT never leaves students alone. They support students in finding accommodation which is the biggest problem in Ireland currently. It also has some college accommodations like a green hall and private bonding with Mourne view hall. The time when you paid initial deposit, do not ignore the suggestions from DKITs international help desk messages. They will suggest students regarding initial payments or quarterly payments for accommodation and utility bills. Do not fear in paying those deposits. Once you reach Dundalk, and if you do not find accommodation, it is a big problem and students can lose even more money by paying hostel fees. Eventually, college opens an AIB student account and allocated required letters for PPSN and GNIB. Then you can find part-time jobs in college or nearby.
Likes (Public transportation): From Dublin to Dundalk, public transport facility is more frequently available than public transport to any other counties from Dublin. For, example from the city centre to DKIT Matthews coach is available every 1 hour throughout the day starting from morning 7:30 to evening 9:30 at an affordable price.
Dislikes (Internships): Regarding internships, DKIT will not provide any internships after this course. Everything depends on the type of course the student has chosen. Some courses will provide and some won't. If they provided internship means it is worth paying more academic fees. For my course, there is no internship, and one will get enough lab exposure which is required for post-study jobs
