- The BSc (Hons) in General Nursing course prepares students to meet the Standards and Requirements of Pre-Registration Nurse Education for General Nursing (Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland, 2016). On successful completion of this course, the student is eligible to register with NMBI as a General Nurse (RGN) and is awarded a BSc. (Hons) In General Nursing
- This four-year full-time degree course is offered in partnership with the Health Service Executive, RCSI Hospital Group and other health service providers (HSPs) from both the public and private healthcare sectors.
- The BSc (Hons) in General Nursing Programme prepares students to meet the Knowledge, skills and competencies necessary to work as a Registered General Nurse (RGN)
Students will receive both theoretical and practical classes in college in preparation for their clinical placements. Many different teaching and learning methodologies are used to assist learning in our excellent classroom and clinical laboratory facilities.

This college is about 90 acres and every department has access to many facilities.
Tips: Accommodation, part-time availability and travelling. Unlike universities and colleges in Dublin, DKIT never leaves students alone. They support students in finding accommodation which is the biggest problem in Ireland currently. It also has some college accommodations like a green hall and private bonding with Mourne view hall. The time when you paid initial deposit, do not ignore the suggestions from DKITs international help desk messages. They will suggest students regarding initial payments or quarterly payments for accommodation and utility bills. Do not fear in paying those deposits. Once you reach Dundalk, and if you do not find accommodation, it is a big problem and students can lose even more money by paying hostel fees. Eventually, college opens an AIB student account and allocated required letters for PPSN and GNIB. Then you can find part-time jobs in college or nearby.
Likes (Public transportation): From Dublin to Dundalk, public transport facility is more frequently available than public transport to any other counties from Dublin. For, example from the city centre to DKIT Matthews coach is available every 1 hour throughout the day starting from morning 7:30 to evening 9:30 at an affordable price.
Dislikes (Internships): Regarding internships, DKIT will not provide any internships after this course. Everything depends on the type of course the student has chosen. Some courses will provide and some won't. If they provided internship means it is worth paying more academic fees. For my course, there is no internship, and one will get enough lab exposure which is required for post-study jobs
