IBAT College Dublin: Courses, Admission, Cost

Shane Ormsby founded the Institute of Business and Technology College in May 2004 at Dublin, in the Republic of Ireland. He is the director and principal shareholder of the college. The college was known as IBAT College Swords from 2009 to 2011. In the summer of 2011, IBAT had invested over €1 million for refurbishment and had established the Dublin City Campus at Wellington Quay. In October 2016, GUS (Global University Systems) had acquired a controlling stake in IBAT College Dublin. In December 2016, IBAT had increased its physical footprint by leasing 2 floors in 60-63 Dawson Street as their English Language School had expanded. Presently, IBAT College Dublin has over 1,500 students from 45 different countries.

The first campus of IBAT College Dublin was on Foster Bay in the Swords area of North Dublin. IBAT had received program validation in 2006 from the Higher Education and Training Awards Council (HETAC). The change in name from IBAT College Swords to IBAT College Dublin marked the college's move to the main campus at Temple Bar which was in the center of Dublin. In 2014, after an agreement with GUS, IBAT received assistance from them for marketing and student recruitment. At that time, GUS had also helped to digitize the learning materials for the ACCA accountancy courses. The campuses are well-equipped with 4 IT laboratories that have various specialist programs for courses like Desktop Publishing, Programming, and Data Analytics. The campuses also have libraries and various other learning facilities. The on-site librarians help students develop skills like avoiding plagiarism, evaluating information, referencing correctly, etc. through Information Literary Workshops. Both campuses have several canteens and breakout areas for students to relax and spend time in. The college is said to have catered mostly to students outside of Ireland. The majority of the students of IBAT College Dublin have been from outside the European Economic Area.

IBAT College Dublin provides both part-time and full-time Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Business. It also offers a part-time MBA in Master of Business Administration. IBAT provides professional Diploma courses in Event Management, Project Management, Consumer Psychology, Negotiation and Conflict Management, Psychology, Supervisory Management, Human Resource Management, Strategic Business Management Business Analysis, and Digital Marketing. The college also provides a Diploma in Computer and IT, Sports Management, and Accounting and Finance courses. IBAT provides various English Language Courses like Preparation for IELTS, a full-time course of General English Course, Cambridge Certification Preparation Courses, and also free extra English Classes.
