- The Master of Arts in Costume Design & Alta Moda - Couture Design is aimed at graduates, professionals who intend to complete or deepen their cultural and professional preparation in the fashion sector with respect to Costume and Alta Moda or Couture Design
- The innovative combination of these two approaches to the project, which are contiguous and consequential, aims to shape professionals who can choose whether to dedicate themselves to a single area or both
- The objectives of the course are aimed at leading to the development of an increasingly contemporary logic, designed to develop a multiplicity of skills in a constant in-depth study, integrating, with advanced technical competences, the research, interdisciplinarity and design culture necessary to be able to offer the system professionals capable of creating innovative worlds that are consistent with the challenges of the future
- The 1st Academic Year involves the study of History of Costume, the development of the ability to interpret characters in a historical and contemporary context and the sartorial competence necessary to express the project in various fields (theatre, ballet, opera, cinema, television)
- The 2nd Academic Year ideally combines a vision aimed at the future of Alta Moda through intensive workshops in which students’ design method is nourished by theoretical courses and enriched through the implementation of research projects and garment making
- Students are able to work on an industry project, participate in extra-curricular projects by undertaking a research internship at the end of first year

- This Master’s Degree is aimed at those who have successfully completed a recognized first degree (typically BA equivalent to Level 6 of EQF-European Qualifications Framework), in a subject area relevant to the course, in particular:
- Students who have successfully completed an Undergraduate Degree in a design discipline or a subject area linked to the Master of Arts Course
- Humanistic and Liberal Arts Degree students who have successfully completed an Undergraduate course not linked to the specialized area of the Master of Arts can access the course but the Course Council will evaluate the single application to understand the suitability and level of preparation of the candidate
- To be eligible for the course, students must have:
- Bachelor Degree or Bachelor of Arts related to the course of study of the Master
- Bachelor Degree or Bachelor of Arts different from the above mentioned and not related to the study path of the Master, upon evaluation of the Academic Directorship on the eligibility of the application
